Paying Redick and Wilson Chandler $25 mil this year is legit awful; the Chandler deal is indefensible.

If IT2 is healthy and Denver wants to win the most games possible he will play more than 12 mpg

Initial thoughts on tonights deals...

Really like IT on the Nuggs. Pushing the pace with that 2nd unit and giving them instant offense is going to be tough to deal with in the regular season. I see him having a very good year in that role. Think that is probably the perfect fit for him.

Nets played that perfectly. What are the Hawks doing? They should've just taken the Nuggs dead weight and gotten the pick for it rather than take Lin so the Nets could take Faried/Arthur. Pick probably somewhere in the 20-25 range.


Smart seems to be down to Kings or nothing. Might just take the QO.

He's just a really weird player to fit into a team. Needs the ball to be effective and most young teams aren't looking to give a 29 y/o PG that type of usage. And he just sucks defensively and almost sucks the life out of the other guys on the court that are trying to learn to play NBA defense.

Being an instant offense/Lou Will-esque backup on a team like the Nuggs is his ideal role. Well besides playing with a team with the best coach itl and 4 other guys willing to run through a brick wall to cover for you on defense because you are the only reliable shot creator on the team. But that was a once in a lifetime setup that wasn't going to continue for him, whether Kyrie came avail or not.

Redick is fine at his salary. Wilson Chandler is an expiring and they got a 2nd round pick or 2 out of it. They needed a wing to come off the bench? Who else were they going to get? Mbah A Moute? They can also use him to match salaries in a trade for Kawhi. I think it was a good trade.

I'm usually a proponent of slightly overpaying 1 guy in the 20-22 range rather than pay 2 guys 12ish, but who could they pay this offseason?

Just wasn't really anyone out there worth paying that would allow you to still maintain '19 FA/kawhi flexibility.

Houston Rockets would've made sense, CP3 is injury prone, i don't even know who's their backup p.g & he gets the big stage he needs. OKC & a tonne of others teams should've offered him something. If IT is healthy he's an amazing player & you could've gotten him for pretty cheap.
