What are people's actual expectations for the Lakers assuming no more trades or deals for next year?

I think anywhere from 6th-10th is a possibility. I'm going to go with 8th

Lakers added the 4th best basketball player of all time and people in here have them struggling to make the playoffs or beat UTAH/OKC/PELZ.

just lol

Well he just played one of his best regular seasons of all time and struggled to win 50 games with a supporting cast of about the same as he has now.

But now he's in the West. 50 wins would have been 4 wins better than the 9th seed in the West. And he got those 50 wins in the Leastern Conference. His team had a point differential of 1 ppg. Which would have been good for 10th in the West.

He also played all 82 games of the season for the first time ever. He probably won't repeat that.

There's also a chance that father time will finally remember to check in on LeBron.

I think they make it, but it's not impossible that they miss. It's definitely not lol.

Also, LeBron @ 4 is more lol

Hey, Ray. Here's Lowe going along with my point:

Quote:
(By the way: How funny is it that the team that quibbled over maybe $8 million with James Harden is about to become one of the most prolific taxpayers in league history? It proves the Harden trade wasn't just about money, and maybe not even primarily about money. It was a little about money, of course; the Thunder feared the tax, and underestimated the coming leap in the salary cap. But my theory has always been that the Thunder had misgivings about Harden as a long-term cultural fit, and -- like a bunch of other teams who sniffed around -- did not understand how good he was.

Nah, LAL roster this year is better than the CAVS of last year.

And it's definitely lol that they miss the playoffs.

OKC minus russ is about equal to LAL minus labron.

the cavs roster outside of LBJ was deplorable last year. who was their 3rd best player after kevin love (who sucks on d)? jeff green? he was considered a joke at this time last year. every single nba math of theirs looked like the one below. i guess its larry nance at the cost of a 1st round pick and the jordan clarkson contract.

put it this way, the cavs traded for the lakers 5th best player and he was, by one measurement, their 2nd best player in the playoffs

Coach Luke Walton is going to reimplement the triangle starring LBJ in the triple threat position. That earthquake you feel in the bay area is warriors fans quivering in their teslas.

GSW autopilot just crashed into the LBJ freeway barrier.

Ya, but at least that Cavs roster was set up to maximize Lebron and be a great fit around him.
This Lakers roster seems like the worst possible fit next to Lebron, so he may look much worse while the rest of the team looks okay.

LeBron also plays in 4th gear during the regular season because he's smart enough to know it's +EV to do so. If that becomes not the case, he will adjust accordingly.

I forgot to add that Mirotic will win the 3 point shootout as well.

He's also going to be 34 next season, this isn't a prime Lebron.

Lakers was just as bad, as a matter of fact in the regular season they were very similar:

Don't know why the numbers didn't populate.

If you look at the advanced stats both teams are similarly bad. Then you subtract Lopez/Randle for Rondo/Lance, who both had -40 and -70 TPA's respectively.

I guess there is hope that the young Laker players get better. Obviously this wasn't a basketball winning decision by Lebron or else he would have chosen elsewhere.

The regular season TPA isn't much better for the Cavs. Most teams are much more balanced than the Cavs though. Nance actually had the best TPA for the Lakers last season. Lonzo was 2nd best, Kuz was the worst on the team, Ingram the second worst. Most good teams have 1 player much higher in TPA than everyone else on the team.
