Kris Dunn put up 13/5/6 with good defense but a bum 49 TS% last year. Dunn showed flashes, triple double and he seemingly loves basketball; improvement will happen

Lauri gonna be very good.

Minnesota got the worst of that trade but if Minny didnt MAX Wiggins they would have won the CHI trade

Who cares tho? I'll say the same thing next time it happens.

Every time this happens and people are like, "why did they do that?" It gets discounted. Human beings are exactly that, posters and GMs alike. Them it's a mix of wanting to cover their ass/pride/conviction, and here it's a bunch of aspies.

What does that even mean, trying to jump in the mind of John Paxson requires absolute reason?

You know this guy went after VDN physically, right?

Didn't Toronto just overpay for Serge a year ago? Didn't seem like a crazy overpay, but was anyone else offering better than 2/25 to AB?

Not sure where this started but Lauri is already elite, Philly (Colololol) shat the bed last year not taking him, and he's going to be a year-on-year all-star going forward. What is up for grabs is whether he can be a #1 on a ship team - and if so, how often. I'm on the under .... I think .... but it's pretty close.

Yeah chaz michaels michaels

I was pretty high on Lauri going into that draft. Love him as a player.

You think Hinkie would have taken him?

Hinkie would have traded down and taken him.

If not, at #3 he snap calls. ainec.

Revisiting last year's draft we have:

i) yips ... who the **** knows ... ok there's still a chance this is a #1 pick ... shrug .. no sense in Philly doing this

ii) lavar ... I believe that a good technical coach could mend Lonzo's shot and I believe lonzo himself could be persuaded to do it. If I was a team would I want to pay money to be running this experiment? **** no. absolutely no wai.

iii) celts picks .. Jay Tatum .. good system, good pick for them .. pass

iv) Lauri .. is a lock to be #3 for the 76ers with anyone with a braincell in the 76ers GM position
...

v) Frank

Right now Lauri and Frank are, by a country mile, the #1 and #2 most valuable draftees.*

Fultz, Ball could change that if things work for them.

* I don't believe in Donny Mitchell as a long term prospect.

I think Buddy could be a JJ Redick type of player. He shot around 43% on over 5 3pta per game the last two seasons. Trae is five years younger but I just see his lack of size as too much to overcome.

name a reasonable set of metrics by which we can determine "best player of this draft", ill take mitchell and tatum, you take lauri and frank.

They have capped their upside as a team who loses in the 2nd round of the playoffs.

If McDonough were smart he would have traded him to some team who bought the Booker hype. Instead, he signs him to an absurd contract that is probably $10-12 million too much/year.

You aren't going to like this, but the main point of drafting players is what they will bring in the future - way out in the future in 2+2 time. For the Celts that might be arguable, since you want to win right here, right now, but hey ho ... because that's not how the rest of the league works.

So a metric is something like: win shares over replacement in playoff games in Year 6 of career.

And I definitely take Lauri and Frank over Jay and Donny

It is a bad contract right now but if it still bad in year 3 then it will really be awful

Do we know what the salary cap number will be 5 years out from now? (114m in 2021) I hate offense only players but Booker is someone special.

of all the metric you could pick, you take the one that requires the bulls and knicks to even make the playoffs?
