Going forward, taking less is probably going to be a big component of how championship teams are built.
Draymond took a $12 million discount

One of them will be attached to luol deng to get enough cap space for PG next to Lebron, and I'd like the Yazz to be the team that take that bad pill for some hope

edit: they'll say it's a joke, but the crappy play-by-play guy Chris Denari would always be like, "wow that's some great company!", and they'll talk about it further like it's a real thing

Wasn't he a RFA tho?

I believe he took a 12m discount based on the most GS could give him. But he couldn't get that $ elsewhere.

I remember Dray's contract as being slightly controversial that he was worth it. No memory of it being a discount. Seems like an after-the-fact narrative, yes I saw the ESPN piece written by a hack.

He got 5/85

What is the most another team could've offered him at that time? '14-15 is before the cap jumped up a ton.

Looking for teams for my boy Isaiah Thomas. Not looking good at all. If he wants to start he’s gonna have to sign with Orlando.

Would Chicago go for him when rebuilding with Dunn and Payne?

Knicks seem out of the question with another midget gunner in Trey plus Mudiay and Frank.

I guess between the Cavs and Lakers depending on who loses out on LeBron could sign him.

Or maybe Phoenix despite him hating it there before?

Cavs won't be signing anyone; they're severely over the cap--Lebron or not.

He's not going to goto any contender. He's much better off trying to get a backup job and hope he excels at it, at this point.

I think his max was 5/97, he took 5/85 but that is with GS

The most another team could offer him would be around like 4/70ish I think.

re: IT....Why would a young team want him dominating the ball and making life miserable for everyone else on the team trying to play D?

The best fit for IT is a team like the Pistons that isn't rebuilding but isn't very good and might as well just gamble that he can regain his old form and they can make a playoff run. Hornets would possibly fit this as well. Miami is a decent fit too.

And just hope he can be a poorer version of Lou Williams.

Detroit is already 16 over the cap. He's likely to get the MLE.

Memphis is another OK fit...Just the type of team that isn't very good but doesn't have a ton of capacity to get a lot better.

Seems like the Pistons, Dwayne Casey, and Isaiah Thomas all deserve each other.

I feel really bad for their fans.

if i was thomas i'd maybe just take a one year deal to a place w/some guaranteed pt-- even if off the bench-- and try to play my way into a midseason trade or a real offer next year. easy for me to say though, he may need to just take the longest reasonable deal he gets

it's a good fit, but Detroit has used its MLE

Milwaukee might take a shot on the midget betting that all the length behind him and a good coach can minimize the negative impact on D. But Seth probably knows IT is a washed up cancer so I guess that's out.

First, you aren't fit to hold Chris Denari's glass of crisp, refreshing Kinetico water and second, I mean, the did a sideline segment the next game about how they're obviously cherry picked numbers and they wanted to give Thad a pat on the back.

He was 24 and averaged 3.7 apg as a forward.

TA didn’t make all-defense until he was 29. Never averaged 2apg.

IT will take a 1 or 2 year deal with an opt out after 1 year, he should have tonnes of suitors, probably will be a bad team. IT had surgery a few months ago & i hope he bounces back, he's pretty damn good, not sure why people are hating on him here.
