You people realize K.Love has 2years left on his deal right? I can't see why he would opt out, going to Cleveland has depressed his value so much, he will be 31 next year & i don't see him getting $25mill/year+ on a 3-4 year deal.

K.Love to Utah would be fun. It's a hard city to get real talent & pairing K.Love with a defensive big man is the best fit for him. Sign & trade Exum/Favors + #21 pick for Love, Cavs get young players & a late 1st, about the most they can get for him. The Suns or the Bucks could offer a similar package as well but i think he works best with Utah & he gets to play with Rubio again.

Think he would likely opt out and choose to hit FA while his value is still high. You take the 3-4 year even if it is like 20mill per if you are him I think. Hitting FA at 32 instead of 31 could really depress his value if he were to have a meaningful decline.

I mean, if I could get even money on him opting out in 12 months or signing an extension before then, I'd bet it. For whatever that is worth.

Kyrie, Klay, Tobias, Kawhi, Kemba, Middleton, Butler...Some other really good FA's but a lot more room next year.

I expect Isiah Thomas, Marcus Smart, Nerlen Noel, Deandre & maybe Boogie may all hold out until then.

Obviously some of those teams will spend $ this summer or extend their own guys and won't have the cap space, but they will have more than they have this year.

I think you're underestimating the difference between hitting FA at 31 y/o and 32 y/o as well. At that point in your career you can go from being a main top 3ish guy on a team to a roleplayer pretty fast.

Dude was crucial for the Pacers this year. Doesn't show up a ton of the stat sheet but was basically 12/8 every night while being top 5 in deflections for a team that finished 2nd in STL this year.

I hope he opts in or gets a 3yr deal, but since he's not a long term solution anyway, it may be better for him to walk so Indy can run Myles and Domas out a bunch before having to decide on Myles (to the extent that decision isn't already made).

The Pacers have one of those "good problems" in that they have two good, young players who happen to play essentially the same position.

They can't realistically playing Domas and Turner right now because neither can defend the 4. Myles can shoot the 3 well and could play a great stretch-4 on offense. Since he's soft as Charmin down low, that would allow Domas to bang inside and both can run the PnP or PnR.

That defensive issue is just going to be too much to overcome unless one or both develops really well.

As awesome as Thad is, it may be better developmentally if he opts out. It's not like Indy is winning anything this year anyway.

Pretty sure the only way Durant leaves is if he's the man on his next team. I think other than Lebron to Boston KD is the only player than can leave and be the favorite to title, and he could probably do that on a handful of teams.

I know he won't because why not, but imagine what going to a small-market team like Utah or Denver would do for his legacy, not to mention "saving" the NBA by bringing some parity to the league.

They can basically keep the same team they had with a few tweaks here and there.

Colin Cowherd brought up an interesting idea today that LeBron could get Chris Paul to go with him and then the Lakers could trade for Paul George. They'd probably have to give up Lonzo and Ingram to do that. The only Laker that's untouchable to me is Kyle Kuzma.

One or both would have to take pay cuts or they could shed salary. If they are willing to get rid of Lonzo or Ingram for vets it could definitely work.

I think people are looking at what Bron did in four years ago and in 2010 and thinking that's his blueprint, when imo he's way too smart to make the same mistake again.

PG + Bron / Lonzo / Ingram / Kuz / Hart / Randle would be a dog to get home court in the first round and drawing live to miss the playoffs, and that's with Bron having to push it during the season. I know people want to point to the Lakers record last year add 15 or so wins to them, but two big parts of that team were KCP and Lopez, and I don't see how either plays next year for exception money after being renounced.

The biggest part for me is what Lebron said after game 4, that he's looking for cerebral players who see things before they happen. That describes exactly one player on the Lakers and that guy is a point guard who shot 45% from the free throw line. PG13 isn't necessarily a scholar out of the court either.

If it were a couple years down the line then yeah, but I don't see Lebron going to a team and facing the possibility of being bounced in the first round after Kobe/Shaq/Magic/Kareem all had so much success there... And I don't see Magic just offering up Ingram/Ball for above average players just to make a fleeting run at something they almost certainly can't achieve... Seems odd to punt future goodness with GSW ruling the roost for the next few years.

Do other stars want to play with Lebron? His style means you're probably gonna look like crap while he'll get all the credit for winning. Plus he constantly leaks stuff about the locker room turmoil and whatever because he wants everyone to know how hard the road is.
