If TZ was owning the NBA there would be 7/8 center that would get more than 10M/year

I drafted Brook Lopez in the 8th. Was choosing between him & Kanter. Went floor stretching/defense over inside scoring/rebounding.

He's 32.

His got in for a likely a lifetime AS game situation, but he's 32 (PGs typically don't age well) and he's on the downslide of his career. He's had better seasons including last season. I guess PG in the East was kind of weak--and some how Simmons wasn't picked. Some how Dragic got Kloves spot.

Sorry, we forgot to make our 8th round draft pick. (If it's too late, it's no big deal).

We're going with Rudy Gay (age 32). He had a relatively good season for San Antonio last year upon his return from injury and brings us a capable iso-scorer off the bench and some size and depth (can comfortably play the 3 or 4).

Starters
PG - RWB
SG - Hield
SF/PF - Aminu
PF/SF - Tucker
C - Gobert

Bench

PG/SG - Delon Wright
SF/PF - Rudy Gay
PF/C - JJJ

While our team is firmly entrenched in being competitive from Day 1 with a handful of older vets (RWB, Tucker, Gay) and solid younger players in their prime (Gobert, Aminu), we do have some young legs to carry us into the future (JJJ primarily, but Hield and Wright as well).

Our in-game strategy is pretty straight forward - surround the RWB and Gobert PnR with as many 3&D wings as possible. On defense, we have 3 above average to great defensive players in our starting lineup and are completely switchable. Our bench is complete with multi-positional athletes that can relatively shoot well from deep and maintain our defensive prowess and flexibility.

If we make the playoffs, our ideal rotation would be:

PG - RWB (36mpg), Wright (12mpg)
SG - Hield (30mpg), Wright (18mpg)
SF - Aminu (30mpg), Gay (18mpg)
PF - Tucker (30mpg), JJJ (12mpg), Aminu (3mpg), Gay (3mpg)
C - Gobert (36mpg), JJJ (12mpg)

Diamond Kings

PG Rick Rubio: lots of spread PnR with Rick handling the ball.
SG Brad Beal: primary off-ball creator. overqualified catch and attack/shoot. can guard the best wing in the 4th quarter of games. go-to for isos
G Dion Waiters: super sub. handles the ball. scores.

F Rodney Hood
F Bojan Bogdanovic
off-ball, catch and shoot/attack. but both guys are comfortable with the ball in their hands.

F Kyle Kuzma: three point marksman. stretches defenses to the max. pick n roll and pick n pop with any of our ball-handlers.

C Clint Capela: heavy ball screen actions. rim run. we also will let him hang out on the baseline mid-post, daring his defender to leave him so he can get an oop.
F/C Jerami Grant: we like having him as a ball screener but we're also comfortable putting him in the corner

Either guard gives us strong defense at the point of attack. And Capela is going to eat space and protect the rim with his length/athleticism and also switch screens against shooters. Hood is long off the ball, can get in passing lanes. Kuzma is a flexible help defender who we are comfortable switching onto anyone in sporatic situations. we need him to be a quality rebounder which I think he already is.
Bogdanovic comes in when we play team LeBron in the finals.
Grant can play Clint's role on defense as our back-up 5. when we play Clint/Grant, good luck scoring on us.

Head Coach: Chris Beard.

league obviously especially NO, not willing to give a top asset max money....they have a lot more info than we do.

KAT has a rookie deal and then will get maxed. Not sure what your silly point is. Yes not all contracts are indicative of what a player is worth but this is a bad sign.

or he prob took less to ring chase for 1 year. Point is obvious. The amount of money you get paid doesnt = how good you are at basketball.

your ability to get more money should.

rookies can't get paid more. on the open market if you're a max player and get MLE there is something up. even if it's ring chasing it's a bad sign that the team he was on didn't even offer him something decent.

do players normally take 20M less per year and likely 80-95M/4 less what they can make in a contract when everything is cool?
