^^ This team won 47 games last year & 3 games away from being the third seed in the west, Popovich as head coach for the next 2years is worth a top 10 pick in this draft & Doncic within the next 5years is going to be good. I would've taken Lonnie-Walker instead of Isaac if i could've taken more than 1 rookie btw & by year 3 would have 2 players who are the best assets in the NBA, hate on hater.
Sat right behind Richardson’s parents at game 5 of the first round against the sixers. They were super nice as well as one of his young teammates parents. Can’t remember which one of them had like 5 fouls in like 10 minutes called on them.
And how many teams can guard both of these guys? You don’t think a sharp coach could scheme to where if they don’t double they get eaten alive?
Edit: also again this is for 16 minutes a game.
This doesn't mean the pairing can't be successful, but it's fighting upstream when they'd both love to operate on the low block and be suboptimal in starting/closing lineups, it doesn't make a ton of sense to use resources in such a similar type of player. Especially when Otto's best position is probably 4
Richardson was one of 4 guys I was looking at here.
I'm gonna ROLL THE DICE.
Gonna take an upside gamble on Andrew Wiggins. If it doesnt work out and he doesnt improve oh well . But gonna need to bink something here to compete with the top teams and making a safe pick wouldn't work.
He's still only 22 years old. Hopefully hed be a better 3pt shooter with Giannis commanding so much offensive attention and it fits my teams theme of YOUNG FREAKISHLY LONG AND FREAK ATHLETE.
Giannis Antentokounmpo (24-28)
Andre Drummond (25-29)
Andrew Wiggins (23-27)
after 3 rounds my favorite teams are Harden/CP3/Ingles and Donovan/Gordon/Gordon.
I also like AD/Tobias/eGo and Steph/Adams/Lauri.
Basically I like the teams that ran well with regards to draft slot/players dropping and who didn't FPS it with regards to age timelines, positional overlap, floor spacing, ball dominant players, embracing modern smallball trends, etc. Especially as we get into these huge middle tiers of players, 2p2 drafts well enough collectively that there aren't any huge values. Just draft for fit and don't get tied to "your guy." I think theres a huge pull to want to have your own input and analysis matter, and resisting the urge to overrate this in lieu of optimal fit is a big part of the skillset needed to be successful.
Yeah IDK about DAJ. Obviously after taking Adams I didn't have much interest in DAJ but I think his D is still good. I'm worried about him aging well. But he seems in great shape.
Was also looking at Marc. Thought he could long bomb but worried about what people thought of him going forward since he's quite old and had the worst year of his career. Motivation was clearly an issue last season without undrafted and his coaching issues.
The 6’ 5” guard was instrumental in improving the Lakers’ defense from 30th to 12th, and had a TS% of 56.
Quote:
He also unexpectedly led the Lakers’ rebounding charge once Josh Hart went down due to injury. Caldwell-Pope — who never averaged even four boards in his first four seasons — finished the season grabbing 5.2 rebounds per game. Only Jimmy Butler (5.3) had more among shooting guards. KCP was also a efficient attacking the rim, shooting 66.7 percent in the restricted area.
Quote:
156: Shot attempts when coming off a screen. No other Laker took even 100 such shots.
On my team, KCP slots in nicely as another hardworking, switchable defender that can guard point of attack and spot up off of creation from Butler, Saric, and especially Dray (or shoot off movement as indicated above).
Finally, at 25, KCP is entering his prime years and will be at his peak throughout this exercise.
From a defensive standpoint:
PG: KCP
SG: Jimmy Butler
SF: Draymond Green
PF: Dario Saric
