we're going at a good pace. i don't think we should skip aggressively in the first round when there's good activity/conversation. i PM'd him. last activity 1am last night, so he should be aware this is going on.
Kawhi being hated on by certain people is confusing at best. He was a top 5 player going into last year and this injury doesn't have career ending implications. In the limited sample this past season, he was still extremely good. He is also very young still.
AD is the clear #1 because of versatility and team building
KD ? Go find your alpha player to carry this beta while picking 48th next
Giannis ? Ok but if you pick a non-shooting player next to him spacing is ****ed
AD ? Can play 4 in big ball, 5 in small ball, decent enough from 3 that if you have an elite non-shooting player you can still pick him
This is not only about superstar potential, AD is the only PF/C itl that is not flawed offensively and defensively.
24 teams will struggle to not get exploited with a big who can't D, or who can't switch, or who can't post IT ....
Ok heading out now. Going to select this guy... if we determine we don't want to skip, Capone knows my other pick:
Spoiler:
Mr. Porzingis. Well on his way to an All-NBA season in the east, he, unfortunately, went down with an ACL. It was a freak injury so even though I will have to punt year 1, I expect him to be fully healthy after this year. He is a 40% three point shooting, rim protecting, offense creating unicorn that would be rated higher than KAT if not for a freak injury. Really happy to grab him here especially since I get his 23-28 seasons.

A freak injury????? He tore his ACL playing basketball. Ifs fairly common and its often a career killer.
I'll take one of the most unique pieces to build around, Ben Simmons. Hoping for countless evenings spent at the shooting gym, not the Kardashian mansion.
I'd imagine a linear construction around high floor (e.g Oladipo) players is more viable in this year's draft than any of the last few. Just so many back prime and front prime studs, but only a couple pure prime (Brow, Kawhi, Oladipo only guys 24-28 year 1).
15th a brutal spot but thibk you have to gamble on upside there. Dipo ceiling just nowhere near high enough.
I disagree that gambling on upside is necessary with a middle round pick. You REALLY can't afford to strike out on a first round pick. Dipo has a nice floor and his ceiling could be a Gary Payton lite. Not even a fan of his but I think he is solid to build a team around.
