Gentlemen, the syndicate has agreed to invest in a £10 Last Man Standing entry. We'll need to submit a team to win their game of association football each week, so an orderly voting process is proposed. This article refers specifically to our Gameweek 1 selection, though discussion of wider long-term strategy is also encouraged.
Here's an overview of the fixtures for the first 6 gameweeks. I've subjectively highlighted potential selections (green for strong favourites, yellow for interesting alternatives) but the members are of course invited to challenge my proposals on the basis that I'm a dull-witted Everton fan.
Simply picking the shortest price favourite that's available to us each week is a viable strategy. This method would select Liverpool in week 1, Arsenal week 2, Spuds week 3, Man city week 4. However we'd then be facing the perils of backing Man Utd at home to Leicester or a similarly high-risk venture by week 5. I therefore propose that we consider either Bournemouth or Watford for week 1, with a view to "going big or going home". Each of these options is an odds-on favourite at home against a relegation contender, and if successful would place us in a strong position going forward.
However as previously stated, my history of succesful football gambling ventures could be easily printed in bold font on the back of a postage stamp so I shall now open the floor to alternative proposals.
DEADLINE FOR PICKS IS 23 HOURS FROM THE TIMESTAMP OF THIS POST.
