Dunno how good he is but Redcafe has had a collective hardon for him for 2-3 years now.

He's the guy they wanted to keep that they were fine letting Bakayoko go last year.

Pool just spent our entire summer budget on Fabinho

This actually makes it even more encouraging...

Also one would think that Chelsea fans would learn to appreciate being patient with young assets instead of offloading them to say the Bundesliga or Serie A

Re: 2018 Football summer transfer window thread - AKA Levy GOAT

Chambers & Holding will both be 23yo next season

that isn't really young in footballing terms

they basically are what they are, which isn't very good

nothing like Chelsea continuously tossing away quality prospects for no damn good reason

Then again, at the same time, Maguire was still with us until he was 21 and then spent seasons at Hull doing **** all until he went to Leicester. They could just need a season at a lesser PL/Championship club to get a bunch of game time and then reevaluate

He’s been linked with city too last few years. I’m sure it’ll be a pretty good signing. Pool really coming out strong this year when you factor in naby and vvd

Re: 2018 Football summer transfer window thread - AKA Levy GOAT

We definetly need a new fella in goal. We cant gamble on Karius recovering mentally from his horror show. Im not sure if we are going the Allison route or settling for taking a goalie from one of the bottom 14 clubs. Im fine with either aproach tbh.

We did just sell a player for the second highest fee ever, you would hope we would reinvest the money

Re: 2018 Football summer transfer window thread - AKA Levy GOAT

Im getting mixed signals, aparently he can play right wing back as well, lol. In the current setup you would expect him to play in the center of the midfield where Henderson plays right now.

Milner”s #7

Re: 2018 Football summer transfer window thread - AKA Levy GOAT

I’m hoping this means no fekir for pool assuming they go for a gk. Have seen a few people mention Allison. Are there strong links from those ITK? They’re going to be scary next year assuming salah stays.

but i should have asked whether he was going to be the holding defensive midfielder or a more box-to-box type. then the even the english wouldnt **** it up

Counterpoint: neither has really played top flight football under anyone except Wenger.

I think it depends on who we are playing, context, etc. If we are hanging on to a lead one would hope we would play the role of a defensive midfielder.

Re: 2018 Football summer transfer window thread - AKA Levy GOAT

ya Fabinho seems to be a DM/CM who can also play RB afaik
(think he played more RB in the past)

guessing Keita will be far more b2b of the two, and Fabinho will hold

exceptions to every rule of course, but if i had to bet on it, would probably fade Chambers/Holding becoming CL caliber

England's best DMs wear 4, which leaves 6 to elite CBs like Johnny Evans

I mean this is an obvious +ev bet since they are both English.
