Any time you can get £55m+ for a 30 y/o guy who over the last 2 seasons has started 35 times & subbed in 35 times, I would think you kind of have to do it.
I don't think they're loving that deal if all of Hazard, Morata and Courtois leave with Higuain lined up as the only elite guy willing to play Europa League. Keeping any remotely good players should be a priority over good value sales imo.
Even Kante isn't a sure thing anymore, it's looking pretty bad for them.
While I agree the Malcom deal is better business, I just don't think he's yet ready to go to a CL contending team and being the second guy off the bench is just such a waste for one of the best young players in Europe.
