In the case of Burnley, I'm pretty sure both Pope and Heaton fancy themselves at the #1. In 2 years time, one of them will probably have established themselves, and therefore the other will be available at a more modest fee than they might command now as they will probably be angling for a move.
And what do Burnley do with the money anyway? Anyone who is a clear upgrade on what they have probably breaks their wage structure.
I think Dyche keeps both unless silly money comes in, and is right to do so.
