While it's coming home in the other half of the bracket, the big boys are battling it out in the top half of the bracket for their place in the final (and the chance to get knocked out by england since it is evidently coming home).
Both Belgium & Brazil won their group and are now meeting for what seems to be the toughest game of the tournament so far which should be entertaining considering all the attacking talents these 2 teams have.
BRAZIL
Considered favorites pre-tournament, Brazil are still considered favorites to lift the trophy despite having to face 2 tough matchs to reach the final (where homecoming will be happening).
After a surprising opening draw vs Switzerland, the Brazilian topped their group with a couple 2-0 wins vs Costa Rica & Serbia. They struggled to find the opening against Costa Rica but are building on solid increasingly performances highlighed by a strong defence which has not conceded since the opening game and their superstar Neymar seemingly getting better as the tournament goes on.
It's precisely Neymar who opened the score against Mexico in the last 16 on their way to another 2-0 win. Mexico started the world cup promisingly but I guess a WC wouldn't be a true WC without a Mexico last 16 exit.
Casemiro is suspsended, Marcelo injured and yet to see if he will be fit enough to take back Felipe Luis spot but all the strike force is fit and on fire (except Jesus despite the praise of our expert in strikers ability 8bus).
Non-football wise, Neymar is a lock to make the haters furious again with his antics and circus game on point as ever in this World Cup
BELGIUM
It looked like it was going to be another lolBelgium but a thrilling 3-2 comeback gives Belgium the chance to meet Brazil for a spot in the semi-final.
Prior to that epic game, it was a smooth journey for the men of Martinez who scored 3 & 5 against the mighty Panama & Tunisia. Their last group against England which featured reserves on both sides turned out to be a bittersweet victory for Belgium as that sent them to the tough side of the bracket while England will be busy homecoming against Colombia, Sweden and Russia.
Neverthless, all of that almost ended up not mattering as Japan found itself up 0-2 at the hour mark after two stunning goals.
But that is when Martinez sent his golden generation, Fellaini & Chadli, from the bench to unlock the situation. The former with an equalizer and the latter with a last minute winner on a sublime corner counter
Do not pay attention to Lukaku on this goal as our definite football striker expert, 8bus, has again correctly assigned he's mega trash and should never be on the pitch.
Belgium is healthy and no suspension to report and an interesting match up will be Neymar vs his club teammate Meunier.
Lots of attacking firepower in this one which should be fun for a place in the semifinal against the winner of France/Uruguay
