Brazilians mocking Germany, while expected, is a little pathetic

Not making out of group stage is worse than losing badly in semis.

7-1 at a world cup you are hosting? Debatable.

Not only that but qualified ahead of the Netherlands, eliminated Italy and now qualified ahead of Germany in the WC. Zlatan probably thought they would never win another game without him.

Can someone give me cliffs on the Zlatan situation?

Why wasn't he selected? Was he literally not good enough to make the squad, or was he good enough to make it on football skill, but the baggage/distractions wouldn't have been worth it?

basically he retired from playing for sweden in 2016, but then when they qualified for the world cup he decided it was all about him (despite having contributed nothing to the qualification effort), so he said 'lads, you're in luck, i'm coming out of retirement to play for you' and they were like nah

Thanks. Sounds like something he'd do. Even if he was Ronaldo-level valuable, Sweden is more than justified in not selecting him.

But as far as his current skill level is concerned, is he good enough to be on the roster or even a starter. Or alternatively, if he hadn't retired, would he have been on the team the whole time.

Almost certainly good enough to be at least a sub, but not worth it. 3 years ago maybe.
