This is why Ozil should be playing wide imo, Germany's midfield is so open with him playing at 10.

Think football has gotten to the stage where true 10s are a net negative at the top level.

Kroos just hating life, sprinting trying to keep up with the streaking Mexican on the counter

Playing without a defensive midfielder was a bold strategy

I know Ozil is not used to tracking back like this but he may want to read the scouting report on lozano

I like the yellow for time wasting on the 40th, feel like refs have been really good.

Exactly, that's good for a team that most bookies had as dogs to qualify out the group this world cup and the last two. I couldn't find odds for the 06 world cup.

So for the past 3 world cups they've punched above their weight.

My English half despises the German team, my American half despises the Mexican team.

But it’s fun rooting for the underdog... sooo.. vamos Mehico?

I think the problem is more that Khedira thinks he's a striker. Dude has somehow convinced people he's a DM when he's always run around like an idiot. Schweinsteiger used to be able to bail him out.

So far all the refs have been pretty decent. Except for the Uruguayan dude

Sure rivalry with mexico, but I feel pretty inclined to jump in with our continental brethen. And germany are so arrogant.

no other top side have I ever seen, that have to repeatedly manage counter-attacks at a deficit in numbers.

it's actually awesome and a clear indication of their commitment to attack, but it's weird at the same time

Khedira clearly teh weak link. I feel for Kroos...he is watching Khedira storm forward leaving him in no mans land. Might as well sub in Reus for Khedira..doesnt change much

Superb half from Mexico. Was puzzled a lot of the time with what exactly Khedira thought he was doing.

Also had no idea Ochoa was still Mexico’s keeper. I remember he was on the cover of FIFA 09 or something.
