Ref is awful, need to give cards for persistent infringement here.

Meh, bad result but I'm still pretty confident. Team looked good but missed too many opportunities and got unlucky once.

Neymar gonna get a red card in some match, when he keeps on getting kicked and fails to score.

I just can't wrap my mind around decisions that coaches make. Starting Paulinho and not having Firmino in there should get you fired on the spot.

Paulinho was one of the best players in the qualifiers but when Tite decided to start Coutinho in midfield that was trouble for Paulinho because he needed to become a deep lying playmaker and that’s not his game.

By the way that’s the exact reason why he replaced Paulinho for Renato Augusto. Augusto is really solid in that position.

I agree that Firmino should start.

Question...if Brazil wins their next 2 games, they are likely to win their group right? What if Switzerland does too? How do they break the tie?

FIFA's ruling for the ranking of teams within a group is as follows:

The ranking of each team in each group shall be determined as follows:

a) greatest number of points obtained in all group matches;
b) goal difference in all group matches;
c) greatest number of goals scored in all group matches.

If two or more teams are equal on the basis of the above three criteria, their
rankings shall be determined as follows:

d) greatest number of points obtained in the group matches between the
teams concerned;
e) goal difference resulting from the group matches between the teams
concerned;
f) greater number of goals scored in all group matches between the teams
concerned;
g) drawing of lots by the FIFA Organising Committee
.

Maybe a noob question here but isn't it better for Brazil to finish second in this group to probably avoid Germany in the round of 16? Or is that thinking too far ahead? Would a team ever throw the group to avoid a situation like?

Way too soon to even be considering that. There is sports precedent for that. In Olympic badminton one year, two teams got thrown out for trying to avoid the world #1 who were upset in the group stage.

They did so extremely clumsily, though. If you're THAT blatant, you deserver to get thrown out.
