That it affected PortuLÖL this time is amusing me, but we'd have won the DFB Pokal if not for similar ****ery.
They are trying to use it in an enlightened way, only for massive obvious errors like the ref sending off the wrong player, someone clearly scoring with hand etc.
A foul with a degree of ambiguity seen by the ref is not going to be overturned and that seems like a good policy imo.
In england they have used VAR to disallow goals for really nitty offsides, like the point of an elbow, its much worse used that way.
