Jerami Grant is going to take a huge jump this year. I really like what Prestie has done even though I think Westrbook is the most overrated athlete from the past few decades.

Hearing Myles Turner getting extended for 4/80m. Bit of a surprise, seemed to be consensus that Pacers would let him go to RFA. Probably a tad unnecessary, but there are tangible psychological/loyalty reasons to just get it sorted now. The amount seems fine. As a Pacers fan I think I'm happy, though talk to me when he does his knee 20 games into the season

EDIT: 4/72m that could go as high as 80m with bonuses. Yea can't complain

Myles Turner deal seems good, Larry Nance deal is even better imo. Next year there will be quite a bit of money to throw around, and both guys fit the hard to find role of starting 5/backup 4 or vice-versa that will allow you to get away with less bigs without sacrificing talent.

I would be quite pleased if Trey Lyles got a Nance deal despite less of a sample-size.

Super happy about that Miles Turner deal. Seems about market rate for his last 2 years productivity and he should still be getting better. Love it.

I think Oladipo is going to bring out the leap in Turner this year. 76ers are SUPER overrated right now. They went on a tear at the end of last season by crushing cans. I think Pacers end up being the 3rd seed if Oladipo stays healthy.

Ya, they can offer an extra year and 7.5%(?) raises instead of 5%(?) raises each year

turner deal seems fine, but still needs to improve some to make it a good signing. pacers can't really afford not to lock up a talented player (lolknicks)

think kyrie spoke abstractly here, but could this quote be a dig at lebron?

Quote:
He’d much rather talk about his responsibility to teammates like Jayson Tatum, Rozier and Jaylen Brown, all of whom are 24 or younger. “It’s helping out the younger generation,” Irving says. “They are the future of our league. Obviously, I’m presently here. But those guys are really, really special. I’m not the veteran that’s mad that everyone is taking more shots. Nah, man. I want to see a great team.”

If Lyles really pops, Denver might consider Millsap expendable. That seems far-fetched.

Cavs making the playoffs is an insane prediction. I guess someone has to get the 8th seed but I think the Cavs will be horrible.

I keep hearing people say the 76ers are super overrated because of how they finished the season, but before that they were a very young team that lost a bunch of close games. I think they had an expected record of 55-27 last year. I would agree that they're overrated if we assumed no progress from Simmons & Embiid but they should both take leaps again this year. I'd lock them in as the 3 seed if I had any confidence in Embiid staying healthy and playing close to 2500 minutes.

I'm not confident in Turner making a leap but I hope he does. I hope him and Sabonis can play together. I think Sabonis makes another huge leap this year and his play demands 30 mpg (I'm biased, he's my fav player itl). How well those guys play (individually and together) is one of the things I'm most looking forward to watching this year. Hopefully I don't get too tilted watching McMillan's in-game coaching.

Time for season predictions. Some of these are best/worst case scenarios rather than most likely scenarios because they're more fun. I have the Raps with the best point differential, the Nuggets winning 35 home games before getting murdered by playoff Lebron, Lebron not being all-NBA first team and the Warriors not titling. If I was going most likely I'd obv have to pick the Warriors, but I love the field at +160.

1. Rockets 62-20
2. Warriors 60-22
3. Nuggets 52-30
4. Jazz 52-30
5. Pelicans 51-31
6. Lakers 50-32
7. Thunder 48-34
8. Blazers 44-38
9. Mavericks 41-41
10. Timberwolves 40-42
11. Spurs 40-42
12. Clippers 39-43
13. Grizzlies 27-55
14. Suns 24-58
15. Kings 19-63

1. Raptors 65-17
2. Celtics 58-24
3. Bucks 53-29
4. 76ers 52-30
5. Pacers 48-34
6. Heat 43-39
7. Wizards 41-41
8. Hornets 37-45
9. Pistons 36-46
10. Nets 33-49
11. Magic 28-54
12. Cavs 25-57
13. Bulls 23-59
14. Knicks 22-60
15. Hawks 17-65

Warriors 4-1 over Rockets, Raptors 4-3 over Celtics
Raptors 4-2 over Warriors

1st team: Curry, Harden, Kawhi, Giannis, Davis
MVP: Kawhi Leonard will win, Anthony Davis should win
ROY: Luka Doncic
DPOY: Rudy Gobert
MIP: Dennis Smith Jr
Scoring champ: Giannis
