NEW YORK -- New York Knicks owner James Dolan, who has put the New York Liberty up for sale, said he couldn't rule out selling the Knicks if the right offer came along.

Dolan, 63, said he loves the Knicks and Rangers, "but you still have a responsibility to your shareholders."

"You have a responsibility as the guy who runs the place to deliver on that for them, that's being open and transparent. And so in that position, I could never say that I wouldn't consider selling the Knicks. Now, my family is not in that position, and they are the majority shareholders. They hold the majority of the vote. ... As a majority owner, I don't want to sell, either. As the head of the public company, you can't say you can't sell, because then you're telling your shareholders that your own personal feelings about your assets are more important than their money. And they won't invest with you if you do that."

James Dolan effectively took a few paragraphs to say exactly nothing.

He can *****.

Denver has the biggest home court advantage in the NBA as well, they are a good team. Jokic is legit special

Jon Krawczynski @JonKrawczynski

Kings coach Dave Joerger pushed back hard on suggestion that his comments yesterday about Luka Doncic were indicative of a rift with the front office. "There's no veiled shots at anybody."

"When we drafted Marvin at 2, we were high-fiving like crazy. We got the right guy for us. This isn't going to be a story in 3 days and it'll be definitely buried 5 yrs from now when we have the next Durant-Westbrook. That's how good they're gonna be."

I think it's cool that Jagerbomb is talking his team up like that. I mean if my coach said wgaf about Mitchell we got the next Walton I'd be all for it.

I think the quotes are making their rounds because we are still in the mindset that Kang's gonna Kang.

Their win profile is just nuts, too. I have tried to temper my excitement because they are hurt right now and a 4 game losing streak could easily be around the corner, but just look at some of these accomplishments.

- 12-4 against the West
- 8-6 on the road, best mark in the best against a TOUGH road schedule, with wins @TOR, @OKC, @LAC, and @ POR
- 11-4 against teams >.500, most wins ITL and best win %.
- #1 PD in the West despite the 9th toughest overall SOS per BBref
- 5-0 in their division, which is supposed to be the toughest
- Most games lost due to injury in the league
- Currently have tiebreakers on LAC/POR/OKC/GSW/UTAH/SAC/TOR/BOS tied with LAL - and MEM
- Only down in tiebreaks to HOU (0-1) and MIL (0-2)
- Have not lost by more than 10 points all season
- Have not trailed by 20 points all season

If it were a team like Golden State or Boston I'd be like "yeah they are elite, that's what their win profile should look like".. The fact that it's happening to my team, the second-youngest team ITL, has me in disbelief. It's been extremely enjoyable, but I'm nervous that they are going to lose by 50 the next game just because things have gone so well for them, and I just feel like it's too much too soon.

Curious to know the backup to the "Most games lost due to injury" stat.

Are they all players? Players that matter? Starting 5?

saw a clever nickname for Monte Morris: The Count of Mont Assist/TO

MM with a league leading 6.2 assist/TO ratio. A surprising 2nd place is Tyus Jones with a 5.3. The first all-star level player is Kyle Lowry at #11 with 3.6.

I'd prefer looking at why they are winning and not just that they are winning. That gives you a better idea of if they are running good in terms of variance. They could be like Utah was last season, except their hot streak comes at the beginning of the season and not the end.

The stat that jumps out the most to me after a cursory glance is that they were the worst team in opponent 3P% last season and the best team this season. A change in defensive scheme can account for some of that, but it is possible that they were unlucky last season and lucky this season and they can be expected to regress in that area as the season progresses.

I remember when Milwaukee moved from dead last to top five in defensive rating when Jason Kidd took over as head coach, then people figured his defense out and the team became average at best. So, it's possible that whatever they are doing different is going matter less beyond this season. It also may not matter as much in the playoffs if more time studying film can allow an opposing team to figure out some weaknesses.
