@AUGuy: I'm sure you know more about this than I do, but the rumors here are that there were a ton of other issues that were handled internally and didn't make it to the papers/sports radio.

Totally forgot he was suspended prior for weed or something. He was on thin ice as it was so now I'm not surprised. Didn't even realize he was suspended for games 1 and 2 because he's a backup so **** it

Feels like Gus is gone after this season. He has proven that he cannot win without a running quarterback. It's a simple as that.

Administration is the huge problem also. Every time a coach has a little success, Jay Jacobs ****s his pants and overpays. Then Auburn is stuck with a ridiculously expensive buyout.

Malzahn has lost his way. I think Cam Newton was the worst thing that happened to him. He keeps trying to recreate that and he needs to realize that worked because he had a superstar. His offenses at Tulsa were incredible and they are nothing like what he is running now. It's as if he has abandoned everything that got him to where he is.

Every administration sucks and overpays. Nebraska gave Riley an extension last week. Look at the buyouts of Sumlin, Orgeron and Bielema. Those AD's are making 700K+ to be complete morons. I am in the wrong business.

How many coaching changes are we going to see next year?

Jones
Orgeron
Bielema
Sumlin
Malzahn
Ole Miss is open
Odom

It feels like the loser of Arkansas/A&M is almost 100% to be fired. I'd be willing to bet Sumlin is gone by next week if they lose. If LSU goes 7-5 or worse, what do they do? Missouri is awful. I think Butch Jones is gone. Malzahn might survive. The conference is so bad that some of these terrible teams and coaches are going to win more games than they should. Then they will get an extension.

Lsu has to keep coach O for at least two years right? Firing him after one year is basically admitting they ****ed up bad

And I can see ole miss just keeping their interim coach on for a few years while they go through their sanctions. Now way they get any big names with a possible death penalty looming

As much as Les Miles was an "institutional asset" for Alabama, "Head Coach Ed O" is a goddamned blessing aside from his recruiting prowess.

My hottake from the Cal game is to get this guy away from your team, pronto. Probably shouldn't have let him get on the plane.

A different hot take: I am guessing that under the circumstances, Ole Miss' priority is on something other than winning games this season. Or even next season, assuming there is one.

I know nothing about the guy there now other than what has been in the news, but if he is squeaky clean and unlikely to do something nefarious off the field, I suspect he is entrenched for the immediate future. The last thing that school needs now is somebody to come in thinking he has to do an outstanding job recruiting to keep his job.

I think Bielema hangs on but the rest of those guys are toast.

I mean, probably yeh. Why did they hire him in the first place if they are just gonna fire him in a year. What a waste of everyone's time. Sets an awful precedent for the next coach who has to worry about getting fired after year one if he doesn't perform

I think Butch Jones survives another 8 win campaign. I also think Gus survives as well.
