i actually really liked him at valencia. but his barca time has been a disaster obviously
yeah, he had some great games for Valencia, wasn't really capable of consistently playing at that level, unfortunately. He's still a pretty good player imo, just not Barça starter level.
Will be interesting to see who PSG try to punt out tomorrow, and what other late deals are available.
The same players we tried to punt out two months ago (Lucas and Ben Arfa). Your source is sliding towards debit if it thinks Di Maria to Spurs is legit possible.
With this expert Mbappe loan we aren't that much in a hurry to sell anymore, + it looks like nobody feels like leaving.
ALexis was 1/2 I think yesterday or something dumb like that. I just can't see it getting done in the next 24 hours. They're so dumb for waiting so long
Arsenal would be dumb to turn down anything like the £70m David Ornstein (I think) suggested City were preparing to bid tomorrow.
Arsenal are odds against to make the top 4, and I don't think keeping Sanchez really changes that. Therefore banking something close to £80m now, as opposed to £0 next summer, seems like a no brainer.
such an elraz post - all focus on the in/out-balance sheet win

It's all very well for you guys to say "lets take two seasons off, buy no one, and give the £££s to the next manager" ... But .. Everton.
Ok, you have a big stadium - so do Newcastle, tho' not in London - but if you spend 3 years out of the CL and 2 years out of Europe how swift is your recovery going to be with, Wagner or whoever, as manager? You currently have 30 years of top 7 finishes apart from 2 10ths and a 12th.
Well, the squad still has a nearly £200m wage bill. They're also not going to just not buy anyone next year, either. The risk of staying with Wenger (and possibly Kroenke) is a bigger risk than the unknown at the moment imo.
Kroenke legit seems like super aids. But football isn't like NFL or NHL in that if you're not successful enough to get into the CL you lose massive revenue. So maybe Arse fans have hope beyond everyone cancelling cable and their season tickets which seems to be the only way of protest US fans have.

There is a huge risk involved, just like tchaz pointed out. Differences aside I'm pretty sure most board members are delighted to pocket their share of the profits come the end of the season.
Maybe they think that with limited investment Wengz can pull the rabbit out of the hat again (Sanchez can carry us - that is why we are sticking to the player swap for now) and land top4 or worst case top6 or win the EL.
Just because we would like to challenge for the title the owners do not share the ambition and all the blame is on Wenger anyways. By no means do I defend Mr Out at this point, because if funds are witheld and you do have ambitions to win the title, you raise your concerns OR do not sign a new contract unless funds are guaranteed.

that is why I thought things could legitimately change this transfer window. (LOL ME obv)
There was a clear indication for years that Plop/Spuds are catching up and doing great wheelin and dealin. While we were trying to find the cheapest way to stay ahead for a bit at least.
Didnt work this time, but it was a near miss- almost caught plop in the end.
so no money available for transfer as it is. Fans mugs, can shout wenger out, but the stadium will be filled...or at least the season tickets are sold aaand the obligatory:
FSG don't spend their own money and they do some shady stuff (ie. character assassinations in the press) but you at least know that JW Henry is passionate about winning.
Kroenke just seems like a massive tool. Like fair enough the guy is a mega billionaire, but he's ugly and comes across like he's utterly boring. Guy has less charisma than a wet cereal box. WOAT billionaire.
Need more Richard Branson and Mark Cuban types owning teams
it seems the bigger clubs Bayern tried to loan him to either asked for bigger loans or low buyout clauses at the end of the loan, I'm guessing a smaller club isn't that picky about these things.
It also helps when the smaller club's manager is your club's former assistant coach.
FWIW Alexis Sanchez asked to have some time off today to solve our his transfer situation to Pizzi( chilean manager). Pizzi wasnt thrilled.
Tommorrow we play Paraguay so I would very surprised if City manages to pull it off.
There were also rumors that this was false
It's all a huge lol. It's embarrassing
lol Arsenal for obvious reasons. They could not be worse at business if they ****ing tried. Top down they are just archaic and absolutely ******ed.
Lol city for waiting so long and bidding the 50m they knew would be rejected. Two days before the window closes. Lol not being creative and throwing in a player even if it's not sterling. Just lol all around. A huge blunder. Their scoring is a serious problem and they're not winning jack **** the way they're currently built.
And finally lol Alexis. ***** and moan and gesticulate all over the pitch but sit there with you d in your hand all month. Enjoy the awful season. You deserve it.
There's like a eight hour window they could do something today. It's too late. Congrats on losing out on the money Arsenal. Congrats on not sealing the season city. And congrats on that squad Alexis.
Completely miserable being an arsefan this season. At least in past seasons there was some semblance of hope early on. This season just complete hopelessness.
I wonder if ars had deservedly beat stoke it would feel this bad (could just chalk pool loss up to them having our number, and they'll prob do that to other top 6 teams as well... if you can even call ars top 6 now).
Alternate theory: the board have a sunk-cost fallacy with Alexis and have told Wenger that if he wants to keep him he needs to offload/not sign £70m worth of new players.
