PSG benefit from getting insane wages off the books for a player they apparently don't have much use for. That has real cash value.

Juve know this and also if they're gonna pay Matuidi so much money (and he's not taking a paycut, ldo), they won't be too keen on paying through the nose on a fee.

Nah, he's always been a good defender. Decent on the ball too. The issue is with his concentration, he's quite prone to switching off/making bad decisions.

He was pretty good for this last season - I don't recall switching off/bad decisions at all really.

Pep already has one dodgy overpriced young centre back.

Sanchez might be the next big thing, or he might be the new Mangala.

Either way for €50m you should be able to get the finished article, not a work in progress.
