Ederson has to be first choice for Pep.
Probably the best GK available distribution wise.

Liverpools number one target is Naby Keita according to the most reliable Pool journalists.

I would imagine Red Bull won't be easy to deal with, seen reports of them wanting 50m for him.

Never seen Keita play but if they want 50m he must be brilliant, sign him up Klopp

Evidently 5/43 for silva but I'll be surprised if it's that low? Seems like great value if it's somehow true

They don't even have to do this much...he can sign a pre-contract agreement with any club in January and then leave on a free, right? City should just offer him some sickening amount per week that he can't decline.

That's probably the transfer fee, without any add-ons. French media reported it as 70m EUR which is ~61m GBP. Seems likely it'll have been structured similarly to the Martial deal, with performance add-ons.

Morata has agreed terms with Milan according to Marca. Fee not yet agreed, but 60m EUR mentioned.

heard €50+addons or €60, €70 seems like a lot, would actually lose me a bet with a friend, so hopefully it's not that high

Tbf he had already had a few breakout games in the CL before then but yeah in that tournament in particular he had opportunity to be an all dominating talisman on a team with the large majority of possession and I thought his level there was outrageous.

For Monaco during early Jardim it had been very Mourinho-like. Worse actually. This season with how excellent the team has been we've seen more attacking football but despite the unreal number of goals they have produced it's still within a system, with a few players, that aren't even that great for him I would claim.

I'm so glad that he has ended up with Pep where he can truly flourish.

I really believe he is one of the few players that could have taken over from Iniesta. He is so good in small spaces and central of the pitch but most haven't really discovered that it seems.

Of course he doesn't have David Silva's expert know how yet but I definitely think there are similarities to young Valencia-Silva, though Bernardo is a bit stronger and he is also very comfortable playing Deco-style of football combining 8 and 10 role.

Stop stop I'm already aroused

Rumors are they're going hard for mendy / Walker but will be surprised if they land both. Will be happy with one but they unloaded all fullbacks except kolarov so they're in desperate need

I was not happy with the Jardim/Monaco situation before the season.

Funny how that turned out though I'm not sure I was wrong really.

From the European football thread:

Quote:
When it comes to Monaco I just really dislike their coach Jardim.

I acknowledge that he is good and get decent to good results but here we have a club where agents, or one agent in particular I guess, showcase a lot of their elite talent. Monaco have so much talent every year and then all we get to see is them playing ultra defensive most of the time. No possession. No shots on goal. No dribbling. Of course their XG is fine and maybe officially they're not some development team for generating agent money, maybe Jardim's results are everything-stance is what is keeping illusions of a real football club alive and well.

I just care a lot more about a Kylian Mbappe (best player at U19 EUROS), Bernardo Silva (best player at U21 EUROS) and Ruben Vinagre (best player at U17 EUROS dominating absurdly from left-back) or very emerging right now Lemar and Bakayoko than I do about Monaco. Then I didn't even mention the other Adama Traore who became notorious last U20 World Cup, but where it's more up in the air what kind of talent that he really is, and I'm sure there are more.

Of course some of these names are such sure things that they can't be stopped playing well for Monaco. It was the same with Martial who had incredible performances under Jardim. And we'll see them shine elsewhere eventually, but for me, mostly, it's depressing that a team with this much talent can be so boring most of the time.

I've seen him play, great player.

That's why Rangnick's narrative of "we did this this season with 80% of our 2. Bundesliga squad" pisses me off btw. Yeah, among your transfers you spent a gazillion on a striker that seldomly plays (Selke) or for example on a guy who was way way too good for 2. Bundesliga to begin with (Forsberg; at least wages. I don't know what they paid for him). **** off

Have a soft spot for Milan but this is brainless.

If the new owners are going to write cheques they're far better off raiding everyone around them and working their way up the table, not buying 60m players.

60m spent inside Serie A on 4-5 players is way smarter.

What does 15m Euro even get you these days? Milan prob want difference makers or players who will attract more elite talent not players who are good enough to get 4th or 5th again.
