2017 Football Summer Transfer Thread

Spoiler:

The discussions have already started, might as well have a dedicated thread.

So let's see who is up for grabs this window. As I have not caught up with all the rumours, I just looked up at some odds.

Alexis Sanchez: Rumoured at quite a bunch of clubs. No one really knows where he might end up, especially if Arsenal miss the Top 4 trophy. Top bookie favourites are Chelsea, City and PSG, but any top club might just throw their hat into the ring.

Antoine Griezmann: For him it seems to be either stay or United. But if United also fails to qualify for the CL, they will have to dig deep into their TBTVDITW money.

Daniel Sturridge: Has been linked to a bunch of English clubs and PSG. Not sure if a move makes sense for him under Klopp.

Eden Hazard: Can't really see him moving away from Chelsea, but Real seems to me the most likely club after that. Would probably be a close-to-world-record transfer sum if it happens (contract runs out in 2020).

Mesut ÷zil: Similar to Sanchez, he might jump ship if Arsenal miss the UCL, and his next club could be anywhere from Manchester to Madrid. And Juventus, and Bayern. Still has a year on his contract as well, just like Alexis. WENGER OUT!

Romelu Lukaku: Let's face it: Everton will probably not be good enough to reach the CL in the near future, so Lukaku has been rumoured to leave multiple times, the most likely targets Chelsea and United. Contract until 2019.

Sergio Aguero: Selling Aguero might make 8bus' pants explode, but it seems unlikely at this point. City would lose their most succesful striker, and good replacements are rare these days. Can get 5/1 on Madrid tho, so idk.

Wayne Rooney: Already earns a ****ton of money at United. But he might be tempted to earn two ****tons of money in China or the MLS.

Obviously this was very EPL-centric. But other leagues might have their transfers discussed here as well:

Which Dortmund player will join Bayern this year?
Has Real bought a new fax machine and will have another go at De Gea?
Will PSG spent another quarter billion to finally qualify for a CL semifinal?

If both Arsenal and United miss the Top 4, things might get... very busy™ in this transfer window.

Ozil wouldn't make the team for Juve, Bayern nor Madrid. China probably more likely tbh

You have another dream summer in store? Lucky bastards.

I shall look forward to some big talk and small action from our pint-sized Chairman/Director of Football.

IN

Going to be a big summer. Wish list includes Griezmann, a DM and a CB at a minimum. We could do with some fullbacks as well.

Speaking of fullbacks, are there any quality RB/RWB's out there? Seems like quite a few of the top teams should be in the market for one (United, Barca, City at least, Bayern, Chelsea, Juve maybe too).

I'd put Icardi on that list, i'm imaging he will draw interest from many top clubs

And Belotti as well. Can see Mourinho liking him if Zlatan leaves.

Re: 2017 Football Summer Transfer Thread

Will be a weird window for Spurs. It's going to be pretty difficult to improve our first 11 with players who are in our ballpark.

So, while the Isco's of this world are the caliber of player we should be looking at, the bottom line is Chelsea or PSG probably chuck £200k at him, which we obviously won't get anywhere near.

Therefore I expect us to pursue players Like Zaha, Max Meyer and Barkley - players whose wages we can afford and will improve the squad, but don't improve the team.

Griezmann, Fabinho and Lindelof have made the most noise so far. Would love to see us get VVD bin Smalling and resign Hernandez. I expect us to be pretty busy this summer

Out.

Rooney
Darmian
Carrick
Young

Which European Powerhouse will spend the most money on overrated players stomping in Portugal? Stay tuned.

More likely you'll end up with a couple of precise, tiny midfielders.

Just throw 150M at Spurs for a package discount on the back 4.

I like it. Wouldn't be opposed to upping the money to 160M and throwing in navas.

Van dyke. Would accept Virgil to partner Matip or Dick to replace Mignolet.

£200m would probably get the deal over the line - with City's resources, why wouldn't they?

Maybe we could get Iheanacho thrown in, who would be a great get for Spurs. Like Loftus-Cheek, he will likely stagnate and not fulfil his potential if he doesn't move in the next season or so.

Couldn't agree more, don't think we will sign Hernandez though.

I cannot possibly see how Plop manage to sign VVD with the clubs looking to sign him.

He's rapid as ****.

He's runs behind the line and is a good finisher.

He'd score goals in this side and we wouldn't be so heavily reliant on zlatan.

With Mourinho in charge, the main question about potential strikers is - can they defend?

Re: 2017 Football Summer Transfer Thread

What's wrong with wanting Hernandez back? We badly lack goals and Griezmann (if we can even get him) won't solve it all on his own.
