The bowl games are almost here! The first bowl games are already this weekend. It's one of my favorite times of the year because of the great matchups and wild games that we see every year.



I'm really looking forward to the peach bowl obviously. UCF vs Auburn seems like a great matchup. The big question is whether or not Scott Frost will actually coach in the game. That could be a big advantage for Auburn if he doesn't. It's been reported Scott Frost is not sure if he'll be able to coach the game. He hasn't decided apparently. (from what I've read.) If Kerryon Johnson and Pettway are BOTH healthy for this game, it could get ugly, especially if Frost is not coaching on the other side.



As for games not involving my team, I'm really looking forward to the Cotton Bowl involving USC and Ohio St. This could basically be a playoff matchup if we had an expanded playoff system but whatever! Would Sam Darnold have it any other way?



Also looking forward to the Outback bowl with Michigan and USCe. It will be nice to see if an sec team not named Florida can actually give Michigan a run for their money in a bowl for once! I think this will be close. Both teams are abysmal on offense for the most part but have pretty good defenses. Should be a hilarious struggle!



Anyone Remember Notre dame vs Lsu in that bowl game a few years back where JaMarcus Russell threw for a million yards and basically was picked no 1 in the draft because of that game? Yeh. Good times. Notre Dame has a chance to avenge that game finally? Maybe? Notre dame vs Lsu in the Citrus Bowl should be hysterical.

Of the ones explicitly listed in the poll in OP, I think USC/tOSU looks like the "best" game of the bunch. LSU/ND might be good too, not sure who I like there either. I think Auburn absolutely crushes UCF and it goes way under the 66.5 total. UCF is obv good but they have maybe never faced a front 7 like AU's, especially in a bowl game. Wisky/Miami I think would have been a good game if Miami was at full strength but the injuries give Wisky the edge in a game with low watchability. PSU crushes Washington easily imo.

Really looking forward to the undercards, looks like a ton of good matchups there.

Dunno about Auburn - one of my partners is an Auburn grad and he's scared to death of UCF, mostly on the grounds of a possible letdown after the Georgia loss. Sort of like Oklahoma/Boise St. a few years ago. I think at their best, Auburn kills them.

Boise is like the perfect example of this. Decent P5 team vs good G5 team, very little overlap in opponents and opponents' opponents, one team lost their coach... std dev of outcomes is way higher here than normal. Way more likely to lose by 20 or win straight up.

Only thing that would make it even more high vol is if it was played in Jan instead of just 2 weeks after the season

NMSU, UCF and NIU, and to a lesser extent, USC and Miami are also great examples.
