Yes, even though we beat Collingwood at this ground a few months ago, and were missing a few star players (Josh Kennedy, who is the main forward/goalscorer, as well as our tall ruckman (basketball center) who is still out anyway.

Expected to be dry, probably a small advantage to WCE only because Collingwood chose not to bring back a taller defender such as Reid.

Still liking WCE at the price, but thats because I am a massive homer.

Collingwood has really taken a dump this last third of the season. (Currently goal-less thru 19 min vs Melbourne) Decimated by injuries... and not much show of heart.

Some feline team will win the GF this year...

The whole league is awful this season. All the top 4 teams from like 2014 would wreck everyone's ****, they'd barely lose a game.

Thoughts on finals now cats finished no.1 in home and away?

The only game I'm commenting on particularly is the lions v Richmond. And think that Richmond will win and Lions winning the game after against the winner of 6 v 7.

Even messing around with their ruck - basically they are a 9 man defensive team which is perfect for the wide open spaces that is the MCG.

Is there any evidence that finals performance is different to regular season?

I understand there is in NBA, 'cause you can increase the playing time of your stars in the playoffs/finals, but would be surprised if that same effect applied in AFL.

I think playing off byes is an element of the first few weeks. Geelong have had a terrible record off byes under Chris Scott.

There are probably also some tangential ideas that because defences try harder that outside players are less likely to be effective, but I back that up with zero data other than "hurr durr, small forwards never impact finals" which has been a meme forever.
