Astros strolling into the WS. Things could not have worked out better, I'd rather they face the Yanks than the Twins.

really really tough matchup for the NYY. past 3 seasons HOU have out pitched and completely out hit(at times SHELLED) NY.

Good thing for NY is that its october and some of their players and that org are used to winning big games and world series championships in october. should be a good one.

I really think game 1 is going to be way way more important than it should be, if NY can steal one with gray on the mound, that would speak volumes to how the series will go.

This si hte matchup HOU and their fans wanted, but as the saying goes, be careful what you wish for.

Something about Yankee magic swirling around this team, I favor the team that was championship pedigree and has world class players and World Series champs on its roster, A team that is playing not for the moment, not for the money or fame, but for EACH OTHER. Start spreading the news.

Too bad bumbling Joe decided to throw our best arm in G1. Tanaka is going now, and if we lose a 1-0 or 2-1 game it will be absolutely unforgivable. I'd rather get a huge advantage in games 2 and 3, but nope. I'm not worried about Morton or Peacock or McCullers. Verlander has had his October troubles, and Keuchel I think has never allowed a run to the Yankees.

And Bratz with the predictably wrong take, gotta ride the hot hands in the rotation which is everyone but Gray, even though he's still good

But with Tanaka and CC LOCKED IN and Sevy as the ace, those guys all deserve 2 starts if you ask me. And I don't want to hear this Tanaka is only good at home stuff, he was good on the road before this year and he'll still get game 5 at home

Astros cruise in 5.

Having an Auto-K in the 2 spot is gonna hurt the Yankees too much to overcome it.

Wrong take huh? So you would rather waste our best pitcher? Keuchel has absolutely dominated the Yankees. Either way it's going to be a 1-0, 2-1 type of game. Instead of pitching Tanaka and Severino games 2 and 3 where we have an overwhelming advantage, we are going to end up in coin flips for Games 1 and 3.

yeah, the Yankees have an overwhelming advantage facing Verlander on the road

well let's see.

Keuchel is -180 vs Tanaka
Tanaka is very close to a pickem vs Verlander.

Tanaka is not our best arm...Sevy is...but that said Gray should be gm1 starter as Tanaka is much better at home and if it was me id have gray, sev, tanaka, c.c....but we'll see its all house money at this point anyway.

Is that true though? I don't see the line for that hypothetical matchup but I would imagine the Stros would be similarly favored as they are with Keuchel. Verlander is still very good.

Doesn't matter, Yankees were bigger dogs in game 5 I think when they were clearly a lock so it's all good

Agree with that rotation. I hope the bats come out tonight.

People are forgetting the Yankees are better than the Astros. Tanaka should def start game 3, his home and away splits are a joke. I guess when you live by Joe you die by Joe

edit: nvm, TANAKA should def start game 1. I'm wrong.

If he can only be locked in for 4 innings then he shouldn't pitch twice in the series.

Fair point although I don't know if I trust Gray to go further into the game. Besides the Yankees bullpen is deep, they should be ok if the starters only go 4 or 5

I want it to go six just so I can see a game live next Friday, but I'm afraid a sweep is going to happen. Also, I doubt that pussy catcher on the yankees wouldn't want to take cheap shots on the Astros catching duo, lest he has a death wish.

Not that I like laying this number, but I am surprised the Astros are only -160.

The New York Yankees are the New York Yankees and are "built for the playoffs". Also just knocked off the best team in MLB.

The New York Yankees also had a +198 run differential which was second to Cleveland and ahead of the Astros +196. The Yanks ran bad to win only 91 games
