Dude plays so little defense the only picture in my search around other players is a guy notorious for not playing defense. Probably should have been paying more attention.

Dude Jan Vertonghen plays so little defense that the only picture in my the search that I conducted, which was "Jan Vertonghen interception" around other players which depicts a Spurs player anywhere near a player from another side, is actually a picture of a guy, Christian Eriksen, who is notorious for not playing defense.

Looks like I owe you guys a reveal.
7 players ended up with enough shots to qualify as correct answers for this question. If I run this again next year, & ask this question again, I would either push it back, or lower the threshold to maybe 13 (12 players would have qualified).

Our next worst answer appears to be spending his season marrying Birmingham restauranteur Stephania Christoforou rather than actually playing football.
He has 2 starts, 5 subbing appearances, & 2 shots on target (on 5 total attempts), & no goals.
Last season in 17 appearances with 2 clubs, including 11 starts, he had 9 shots on target.

This Soton-born Welshman has seen his playing time diminish, appearing in 8 games & starting 4, after appearing in 37 games & starting 21 the previous season.
Only 3 of his 12 shots have been on target, but he does have 3 goals. Maybe he should shoot on target more often? Last season he had 23 shots on target, which would still have put him way below correct answer pace for this question at about 8 shots on target.

Last season with Swansea: 50 of 116 shots on target, 9 goals (on pace for 17 shots on target at this point of the season).
Apparently it's been a bit of an adjustment.

Next is another incorrect answer who is slowly adjusting to new surroundings. In 10 appearances he has shot 10 times, & been on target on half of them, netting 1 goal.
Last season with since-relegated Sunderland, he had 31 shots on target on 99 attempts, in 37 appearances, netting 15 goals. He would be on pace for about 11 shots on target at this point in the season based on last year's pace, & at 35 he is not getting any younger.
Still an impressively popular answer, though...

The bad news? It's not a lot. In 11 starts, this 25 y/o Norwegian has managed 6 shots on target. He had 31 in 36 apperances last season, so this person was hoping for an uptick that did not happen.

Maybe one guy just takes most of the shots for this team. Or maybe this guy should just shoot more accurately? 31 shots, 6 shots on target (3 goals).
As opposed to this season's 19% accuracy, last season he had 44% accuracy, & would have been on pace for 15.5 shots on target at this point of the season.

He has definitely taken a step forward from last season when he only had 1 goal all season (& averaged 1 shot on target for every 2 games), but he is still not quite correct.
Maybe missing 1 game & subbing in another was the difference?
