It was also a banner year for racism in SE. From dkgo's rants, to the Nigdominik meme started by tuq and later used by PHB during his meltdown stage, to yeota's flirting with the young Asian ladies. It's good to know as we enter 2013 that the values of the 1950's haven't been forgotten.

phb does not deserve to be on here at all. while i've made fun of him a lot in the past, he's wily mo pena esque with his ability to make many bad posts and then one great one. posters like him are the lifeblood of this forum - if all the posters who regularly get supermad left SE, it would be horrible. you can't have a forum full of dudds.

bdidd sure was awful in the penn state thread but a lot of that happened in 2011 and he was continually baited.

but i will have to go with mt2r - i don't post about the sports he posts about generally, but basically it seems like he only posts when he's taking a contrarian position.

I participated heavily in the psu thread and raged plenty at bdidd. That said he doesn't seem like the right choice for the 2012 WOATSEP. He took a harsher rap than he deserved at times.

Some good choices here but MT2R had a pretty awful year. Some of the other possibilities and honorable mentions are angry homers, intentional trolls, or just too slow to not be able to excuse at least a little bit. Or they provided genuine entertainment at their own expense, such as FB13.

MT2R just seemingly picked things he knew to be nonsense and chose to argue them to death, poorly, just to do it. Anybody can have a bad day or be a little butthurt in SE but he really took it to a new level and sustained it a while. I only post in NFL threads but he gets my vote by a comfortable margin for 2012.

Ended up voting MT2R being consistently terrible all year over those who had a shorter period of worse aids and I also only considered SE posts as this is just a SE award.

I feel bad for everyone who got snubbed as there are many deserving candidates.
