Saw Tebow make some decent throws on highlights. Not bad -- though they were highlights.

Auburn did not look very good tonight... very ABC, very predictable football.

2 things helped them win.

1. Other team penalties.
2. Other team QB doesn't know how to slide, didn't come out of the game and gimped his way to losing the game.

I'm an Auburn graduate and Auburn fan... I was very disappointed with the first 55 minutes of the game.

He played awesome. Did a lot beyond the highlights, very efficient. Some nice runs as well. Surprise was RB Keshtahn Moore, he looks much improved. Offense looks dangerous but it's going to have to carry us.

Defense looked fairly porous in some areas but that's to be expected.

Other things:
Auburn looks really bad offensively(we knew this)
UGA's Jones or whatever is a huge thug, what a stupid ass move punching the guy.
UT is really poorly coached(we knew this)

Sat., Sept. 8
*Alabama at Vanderbilt (11:30 a.m. CT / LFS)
Mississippi State at Tulane (6 p.m. CT / CSS)
South Florida at Auburn (8 p.m. CT / ESPN2)
Troy at Florida (6 p.m. CT)
*South Carolina at Georgia (5:45 p.m. ET / ESPN)
Kent State at Kentucky (6 p.m. ET)
Virginia Tech at LSU (8:15 p.m. CT / ESPN)
Missouri at Ole Miss (5 p.m. CT)
Southern Miss at Tennessee (7 p.m. ET)
OPEN: Arkansas

Certainly some awesome games next week.
USF & Southern Miss can play so it will be interesting to
see how Auburn and UT play.

Good chance for Ole Miss to get a huge win vs Mizzou

2 awesome SEC games with Bama @ Vandy, USC @ UGA

And of course VT/LSU. VT may not score in this game offensively.

I will say I'm was much impressed by Tim Tebow tonight. Usually I think U of F is VASTLY overrated, but today they looked great. It honestly pains me to say that.

I agree with you on Auburn's offense, but I wonder how much of it was play-calling. It was fricking HORRIBLE. Reminiscent of the up-the-middle, up-the-middle, up-the-middle punt days of the mid 90's. WHY do the coaches insist on running it up the middle when we have no offensive line?

I'm hoping this was a huge level, but I doubt it. There were no end-arounds, nothing to take advantage of speed, no misdirection. Even late in the 4th it was still up-the-middle.

I'm baffled.

I can't argue with that. We're extremely lucky we won.

That was a great start to the season for Georgia. There's definately some talent on that team despite being ranked too high preseason. That team is so young but Stafford does have half a season as a true freshman starter experience and may have the best QB skills for UGA since Eric Zeier.

The SC game should be closer. Spurrier always has Ga's number but he's not as tough without a unlimited recruiting base. 24-20 Bulldogs.

Let the Big Dawg eat!

3. Officiating
A win is a win, though, right?

Only saw the first half of the UT-Cal game. Even though they lost, I thought UT looked better than expected.

I'd really like to see Ole Miss pull off an epic upset of someone just to get Coach O some national airtime.

heh, no. we def played bad though and worse, 3 def. starters hurt and an academically ineligible RB, although ive heard he'll be back in the next couple weeks. officiating in that game was fine though.

hats off to Georgia who looked damn impressive this weekend

Only Texas held Oklahoma St to less points last year (10) and the Pokes brought back nearly everyone on offense.

Tennessee didn't look that bad...Cal looked really good

LSU's defense looked awesome, but their o-line needs some work if they want to win the title

Auburn looks exactly like last year

not much else can be told based on the lack of major match-ups

Auburn only -7, that surprises me. Alabama will not lose to Vandy. Its not happening fellas. Just remember that Mike "deer in headlights" Shula is not longer our football coach.

My preseason index has Auburn -2 v USF. USF is actually rated higher, the home field flips it.

Have Bama -6/-6.5 @ Vandy....should be a struggle, but Bama expected to win.

MT2R, Im a sports gambling fish. So is a 5 point differential between your system and the actual line huge? Is that a >1 unit bet for you?

that's a huge difference....that is ridiculous...especially since it crosses the 3 and half the 7

it should never happen, but occassionally does early in the year in college football

Happened last week as well as I thought Auburn should've been -8.5 instead of -13.5
Mine was better last week. Hopefully, it will be better this week as well.

Overconfident? I think Alabama is going to win, but there is def a chance they could lose.

No Im not overconfident, it probably wont be a blowout, but we will win. Theres always a chance to lose. A lot of people (blogs, boards, etc) have hyped this as a Vandy upset. Is Vandy significantly better this year, because I think Bama is. People (not saying you) who didnt watch Bama games dont really understand how bad of a coach Shula was and how much of an improvement Saban and staff are. We finished 6-7 last year and still beat Vandy.

Vandy is better than last year, but I still don't see them finishing above 5th in the SEC East

Tebow was amazing. Bubba looks faster than ever and fully recovered from the leg injury. Riley Cooper is a huge
deep ball threat. Biggest thing was Keshtawn Moore, he looked like a new man. If he can run like that, then
no team can stop us. David Nelson, Louis Murphy played well, obviously so did Percy & CI. We're absolutely loaded.
Potentially deeper than last year.

D looks young as they should be but we have so much talent back there. Spikes & Doe were ferocious, looked ready for
the SEC. Harvey had 2 sacks despite all double teams. Cunningham looked good at the other DE. Estop & McMillan
did not get any push at DT which is worrisome, the young guys played well(Antwine) when they got in there.
As for the secondary, Kyle Jackson for some reason still is
really slow to react and got pulled for Dorian Munroe. Major
Wright looked good and also played safety some. Urban was very happy with his play. We should be fine there.
They didn't have very much action since WKU didn't go down
the field. Haden(true frosh) looked very good at CB but got
burnt really bad one time. WP-L looked just OK. Corners are
a big concern. Got to get better.
Jeremy Finch is insanely fast and had a huge special teams
play, he may be able to play in some nickel packages.

Kicking game all around looks fine. No worries this year.

I heard that the CB play wasn't as great. KJackson is surprising, I was hoping he'd be okay given that he's a veteran and been on the team for a while.

Also, scared about our DL. I'll be there at the troy game next week to see them.
