Florida leads 27-24 heading to the 4th in Oxford. I'm stunned that the Rebels are playing so well...

We played [censored] terrible defense. Gotta get our act together for the crucial games upcoming. Tebow is still a beast though.

If I was Les Miles, Ryan Perrilloux would be my starting QB. Matt Flynn has not lived up to the hype IMO. Hes not terrible, but hes not really good and Ryan looks good IMO. If that kid gets his head right (ie stays out of trouble) he will be a high 1st rounder.

meh, id say that LSU's offense looks good, not great, I mean Flynn has missed at least 2 wide open guys thus far today by my count. Im not saying hes garbage or anything like that, I just like Perrilloux better. I really am not sold on Hester getting a large amount of carries, but maybe Im just a hater.

What's the Over/Under on Perriloux felony arrests before his eligibility is up?

1.5

Flynn is not 100% and should not be playing. He is good when he is healthy.

As I type this he throws an INT.

You guys better hope he doesn't get hurt running the ball because he's you're entire offense. Percy Harvin would play great no matter what; but Tebow is the single most valuable player to his team in the country right now.

Also I don't know what's up with your corners; but they don't play the deep ball well. If Ole Miss had run a few more deep routes they might have won the game. Right now I think LSU is #1 in the SEC, Florida is #2 and there's a big drop off after that.

Maybe, but I don't think either SC or Alabama represent THAT big of a drop off. SC has shown me something today.

As an Alabama alum/fan, I dont think we are in the same league as LSU/FLA. LSU will be tested against LSU/BAMA because both of these teams can throw the ball well and dont have to run. I will admit that the LSU front 7 is sickeningly good, but Im not sure that the secondary is that good. Steltz is the most overrated player in the country IMO. Just because you can get INTs very state means nothing.

That being said, LSU handle business today and never was in jeopardy of losing the game. People should not hate on them because they only won this game by 12.

Barry,

We (LSU) probably have the best cornerback combo in CFB. And yes, Steltz is good. He was good last year behind Landry, and would have started on almost any other team in CFB. The fact is, there are no weaknesses that I can see on LSU's defense.

meh Im trying not to hate, but you have yet to face a team where the QB can hurt you. You may go undefeated, it very well could happen, but I think your secondary is still untested. I also think that you have to weigh in the Les Miles factor. JMO.

Well keep in mind that all the secondary has been tested, and proven themselves to be good. Last year I know, but they have shown they can perform against good QBs before.

On a different note, I usually hate QB substitution schemes, but I like how LSU is running theirs. That said, Perrilloux probably should have started today and played the whole game. Flynn did not look like himself to me.

South Carolina threw for 243 yards today while "gaining" .2 yards per rush. This after LSU had given up 136, 78, and 81 yards passing in its first three games. Do you think someone is going to throw for 350 on that defense or something?

The real test for the LSU defense will be Florida. If USC's QB/WR's can gain 275 I don't think it's outside the realm of possibility that UF's offense throws for 300. The real question is whether the Tebow slam run will work on the best D-Line in college football.

you do realize 75% of USC's yards were garbage time yards?

I do realize this. USC isnt really a passing team. Obv the LSU/UF game is go like the game of the year in CFB. I just dont feel like the LSU secondary has been truly tested yet. I think LSU will split with UF (CCG included) during the year.

Did you even watch the game? LSU never took out its first string and was trying to run up the score. At no point were they letting up.

Also, why didn't any of the other teams roll up some passing yardage during garbage time, which there was considerably more of in LSU's first three games?

I'm not trying to argue that the LSU D didn't dominate the SC offense. My point is that that LSU faced one of the more balanced offenses today that it will face all year, and shut it down. I disagree with barry's argument that SC wasn't capable of testing LSU's D. It's just that LSU's D is every bit as good as advertised.

38-17 was the score when my family and I drove down to Seattle. Get home expecting to see a ridiculous final score...I guess it was ridiculous but not in the sense that I expected.

TFG,

Did you make it to the game? IF so, recap please.

No, I had to sweat it out over the radio while I was on my way down to the Red Sox/Rays game yesterday. I was right on about the Gators having a tough game. I'm about to start watching the tape so I'll give some in depth analysis.

Urban Meyer is now 0-8 on the road covering the spread. We're great at ball control and gave the defense a chance to rest/stay together. From what Tebow said they just took what the defense gave them but I'll see if we could of had some bigger/better drives. I know in that first drive Harvin just dropped a pass that would of been first and ten inside the 20 and then we missed the FG, gave Ole Miss a lot of momentum.

Tim Tebow carried the team on his back & the defense actually played OK bending and not breaking. We stopped the run & that was our game plan. Tebow is off to a better start than Rex was when he was robbed of the Heisman.

Anyways, I'll let you know ASAP but a win is a win, and it's important to see a young team win a game like that. I think we're going to roll this weekend vs Auburn.

This is the first road/trap game for most of the players on the UF team. If they start fast with more special teams plays, big plays, etc then UF could win by 50, but it's a bit more likely Ole Miss hangs around at first & then UF cruises.
Come on man, your team won. Do you really have to pretend you did everything right too?

Ole Miss' Dustin Mouzon said, "I have to commend Tim Tebow because he is like a brick wall. I came up to hit him and I kind of got hurt."

lol, I don't know what you're getting at. I thought it would be a tough game for UF if they didn't come out fast.

It could of been a lot different, 50 yard opening KO return by Brandon James, few nice first downs & then Harvin drops an easy first down inside the 20, miss the FG & decent field position for Ole Miss. It was a game where we just worked the clock/ball control to keep the pressure off of the defense so we weren't going to see us score 60 points.

Also, we had Riley Cooper & Bubba Caldwell out our 2 biggest deep threats, hence the gameplan underneath passing. They'll be back this week
