plus adjusting for competition

This entire argument is dumb, but the majority of the Dream Team supporters are making arguments that wouldn't hold up at a junior high lunch table.

Cliffs: You're arguing this dumb argument dumbly.

What can we do though, we just aren't as good at the YouTube analytics.

And it was only shorter for the US team. The other team had to shoot from behind center. That's why the closest game the Dream Team had in the '92 Olympics was a 32 point win.

Americans should make a statue of Spains coach and thank him. The biggest ******. He just sucks so hard. How can somebody make so many mistakes on such high level is beyond me. Spain should get ridd of him ASAP. But it will never happen. Too bad will never see the full potenial of class generation from Spain.

Also. 1992>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>2010 WC team>>>>>>>>2012 Olympic team IMO

we have established that the shorter the three point line, the bigger the advantage for a superior outside shooting team

no one is denying that the 92 team was better than their random non-pro opponents by a bigger margin than the 12 team was compared to nba players.

In your opinion would the '92 Dream Team have beaten Spain or Lithuania?

It's funny how butthurt you pro-2012 droolers get when your stupid arguments are shown to be... well, stupid. Don't worry, I'm sure you will get a post right one of these days.

Also, why is Rondo a 77% 3 point shooter unguarded but a 59% shooter unguarded from the FT line? What the heck do you think this shows exactly?

prob the exchange of the thread and pretty much proves that, right or wrong about DT v '12 team, matt r might be the dumbest person in the history of the world and that his opinion is less meaningful than visiting a pre-school for blind kids and polling who they think is better.

But what about the enhanced speed of the game? The 2012 team only beat Lithuania and Spain by 5 and 7 points respectively. Why would you say the '92 team would win the vast majority of the time?

you'd think Brent Barry would hit more than 82.3% of his FTs career.

This.

The 9/10 is an exaggeration from everything I've ever seen. Guys leave out the times they were missing as just an off day but remember the times they hit a couple dozen in a row. It's more like 8/10 and that's warmed up, feeling good, standing in the same spot locked in, perfect conditions.

Free throws are about the same because the first shot is harder and it's game conditions. Some of them a 270 lb gorilla just smacked them across their forearm, some of them they're just sucking wind/have dead legs, some of it is pressure, etc. 8/10 3's in practice you're taking all that stuff out of the equation.

Well on the Lithuanian team that the US beat by 5 points Linas Kleiza plays in the NBA...so I guess there is that.

Granted that is one less than the 1992 Lithuanian team who the Dream Team beat by 51 points...but why get caught up in details?
