Cam asked about LIV in the winner's presser. He was combative and dismissive to the reporter.

Spoiler:

Deaf guy who watches every shot practically on PGA tour year round who gave me Scheffler in Masters, JT in PGA, and first words out of his mouth when I asked him here were Cameron Smith. This is getting close to a system. So I'm no longer filtering his picks with my ideas. Took Cam at 24/1 ... hedged up almost half of it today. Late in the round I had Cam at 24/1 to win and the field at +462 to win. I've never tried this guy on non-majors I have no idea but I bet he's not near as good. Of course it's just a heater, but he does that thing that deaf people do he memorizes everything visual down to their sock color it seems like. Used to be a high, high roller. It's an interesting something like a phenomenon.

Came across this surprising stat this week: No one has ever won more than one major over their entire career as the world #1 ranked player ...

Spoiler:
except Tiger (11).

*World rankings go back to just 1986 apparently.

Really entertaining tournament, one of the best majors in a while.

As for Rory: you’re not that guy

Have you played links golf? Have you played The Old Course?

Just because one can bomb it off the tee with the length to have wedge in does not make a course a pitch and putt. There were plenty of hole locations this week where you couldn't realistically get it within 30 feet from 100 yards out. There were also plenty of times where guys bombed driver off the tee into a pot bunker and forced to blast out sideways.

Perhaps our definitions are different but you could have given most of the top guys this week driver, putter, wedge and maybe one iron and they still would likely have been comfortably under par.

Very cool, an amazing piece of property and town.

So yes, many holes players were hitting wedge into, but that doesn't necessarily mean they were easy shots. To me, a pitch and putt is a course that has little trouble and can easily stick the wedges.

But I think we can both agree that Cam was the winner because he putted amazing 3 of his 4 rounds.
