This is the thing that Alonso is in?

Might tune in purely for him hopefully he wins it.

This is so boring.
Whenever an American tells me cricket is boring, this will be my riposte.

Is the ratio of skill to car similar to f1 here in regards to winning?

Alonso clearly the best driver. Whose got the best car and can that gap be made up by skill?

I remember when this actually was the race..

What actually killed the Indy 500 so that it has such a low profile now?

I have no idea how this race works but Alonso has looked by far the best driver since he lost a few places at the start.

F1.

Even then that's been boring for a few years now.

i know almost nothing about this so someone please correct me, i think but there was a big split in the sport in like 1995 or something and two promotions - CART and indycar - emerged as rivals with indycar having the indy 500, not all the top teams/drivers raced at indy for a while which caused a lot of bother and diminished the prestige of the race

this basically

Doesn't help that they find the most boring announcers to call it too.

Ok. It just got more interesting.

Edit: Wow. How lucky was he that he didn't smash his head into the wall. No car design could stop a death there.

now that was a horrific horrific crash. great seeing Dixon walk away from that.

Howard's first car race start of any kind since 2011. a Brit who lives in Indy and got married in Indy.

well this guy is hardly likely to win the race by pointing in the wrong direction and only having one wheel is he. although i do admire his unconventional approach
