http://xpadder.com/

It's $10 to buy, but I know there are free programs that do the same thing, just can't remember their names!

I know the posts I've moved here aren't 100% specific to using an Xbox 360 controller with AHK, but in the last couple of weeks we've had 4 OPs about this that have gone pretty much unanswered. This thread on the other hand was very active and is prolly the best place to get some help with this (asking in the CTH forum might also be a good idea if you get no help in here either).

I have an autohotkey program I am using to multitable with my keyboard. Is there any way to use an xbox controller to hit those buttons?

I',m not a gamer, so I don't already have a game controller.

What brand/model game controller would you suggest I buy that both works well with xpadder and would be good for online poker?

Thanks!

can you guys tell me the name for arrow pads? I set up joy1 through 9 but I cannot find a valid name for the arrow pads. I searched google and did not yield a good result.

I am using stars hotkeys btw.

JoyToKey is free.

There is also a free version of Xpadder here which should do everything you need.

So I got xpadder 5.3 installed and plugged my ps2 controller in using a usb adapter. Every time i thy to configure the controller it is recognized as guitar hero. So when I go left up right down it doesnt read as 4 axis. Like it never even registers when I move the left joystick to the left. It seems to recognize only 3 directions of the d pad also. I have installed uninstalled etc etc. So then I went to control panel and game controllers and it sees it as guitar hero as well.
By the way the controller is a gametech brand not a real ps2 but a clone. Also it is 3 years old but I opened the pack for the first time today. Any ideas? I have a DS3 playstation wireless controller here but I want to test the feel of the generic controller first. I have wrist problems and really want to test the controller on my pc to make sure it is good for my wrist before opening the wireless one. Here in sweden I paid just a hair under $100.00 for the controller and the Xbox 360 controller is special order only meaning cannot get before middle of january. So being not rich that is why I really want to be sure sony is good for me before I settle on the ps3 controller.

TLDR ?
Wrist problems.
Have open generic ps2 controller with usb adapter that keeps getting recognized as guitar hero.
Want to test generic controller before opening wireless I just bought. Maybe its no good and I must go xbox 360 route.
Sweden is expensive.

I have downloaded xpadder and set up a logitech controller with it that works. However, the minute I open Pokerstars with Tableninja, it doesn't work. Can anyone give me a "walk through" on what I am doing wrong?

I need someone to tell me what I may be doing wrong. I have been using Table Ninja for nearly 3 months and it works fine. I downloaded xpadder and it works fine. I bought a logitech computer gampad and loaded the software. I then set up gamepadder to correlate with the same keys as I use for Table ninja. When I test the gamepad with xpadder it works, but the minute I open table ninja, my gamepad acts like it is not even hooked up. I got it to work ONCE and since then I cannot get to to work. For some reason I am convinced it is some sort of order I have to open the programs (stars, TN, xpadder, etc.). Can someone suggest what I am doing wrong? Thanks.

I'm having problems with this now too. Set up Xpadder, tested it on some play money tables and it worked fine. But now, anytime TN or any Stars window is in the foreground, it doesn't work. Any other window in the foreground (browser, HEM, etc.) it works fine, but not when TN or Stars are.

Any ideas?

Edit: Doesn't work when HEM is in the foreground now either.

OK playing around with things a little more, it looks like I can get it to work if I don't have HEM importing. I believe it has something to do with HEM being run as administrator, because Tableninja is the only other program it still doesn't like, and it's run as administrator. The only problem with that is my HEM doesn't work when I don't run it as administrator, so I don't know if there's anything I can do to get this working. Any help would be appreciated

I use xpadder and it's awesome. No more wrist pain after long sessions. Is there anything like xpadder for the apple mac os? I am thinking about buying an apple laptop and trying to find out if I could play poker in the Mac os or not with my xbox controller. So far I have found programs that let you use it to "emulate keyboard or mouse", for games, but I can't find anything like xpadder that lets you use it specifically as a mouse. Is there anything like xpadder for mac?

Does the XBox pad work via the plug and play wire? I got Windows 7, and it doesnt seem to recognize the pad when using the plug and play wire.

Hjalper just came out, its like Table Ninja but has functions Table Ninja doesn't have atm and vice versa; I am not saying which is better b/c they both lack what the other has etc

Well, it has a built-in Xbox setup so you don't even need Xpadder except to use a joystick to move the mouse cursor (you could prob use a AHK prob or Joy2key).

Atm I'm using both together (even tho both don't recommend it) and works great; you can program tons of stuff for the Xbox controller to do, hell even change that song on Itunes too

Everything is smooth and hopefully will get more software guys to pump out better and better stuff for us grinders.

Here's a question for the multitablers out there. I can see how good using a controller would be for pure stacking. However, I like to stack and also use a tile layout. Using the analog stick to move between the tables seems pretty clumsy to me.

Say for example I am tiling 6 tables, I would want to move my cursor to each of the tables just by using the d-pad on the controller. Is there anyone who knows how to do that, or knows of a script? Obviously I would need to input my own coordinates for where the tables would be.

Also, I use tablescan turbo for joining tables. How do you guys get new tables going using the controller? Surely the analog stick isn't sensitve enough to do the table selecting and joining waitlists etc?

Thanks in advance for any replies

That's already built into Hjälper. The default for 'Switch to Table U/D/L/R' is the right thumbstick, but you can rebind that to the d-pad easily enough (and no coordinates are necessary to make it work).
