You have three choices:
1) Go to a computer repair shop and see if they have a computer with a 32 bit OS. I got a functional PC with a 5 year old version of Windows 7 on SP1, which is 32 bit. It cost $200. I can run Wilson and other legacy software on it with no problems. However, if you do this, do NOT connect to the Internet. You will be running huge security risks. You'll be hacked, your sensitive data will be posted on a giant billboard on Times Square, and Justin Bieber will egg your house. Just don't do it.
2) If you don't want to buy an old PC, as above, you'll need to be able to run a 32 bit emulator on your current PC. If you have Windows 7 Professional or Enterprise, go to the Microsoft website and download and install VirtualPC and Windows XP Mode, in that order. Both are free. The XP Mode app provides a 32 bit emulator. This should allow you to run the software.
3) If you have Windows 7 Home Premium, (2) above won't work. VirtualPC does not run on the Home Premium version. The workaround for this case is more complex:
a. Download and install Oracle VM VirtualBox, a free program. (VM stands for Virtual Machine) This allows you to run other virtual operating systems on your PC
b. Within VirtualBox, click on "Create" and follow the steps to create the shell for a virtual Linux box.
c. Download and install Ubuntu. This is a free, open source Linux desktop OS. This will be a disk image that you assign to the shell you create in (b) above. Make sure you download the right image for your computer. They have a 32 bit i86 for Intel chips which will do nicely
d. Within Ubuntu, install the WINE software. This will be included in your Ubuntu download.
e. Presto, WINE allows you to run 32 bit Windows programs within Ubuntu.
There are plenty of user forums which will walk you through the Ubuntu and WINE installations above, as well as helping you with any related questions on Ubuntu. A quick web search should point you to them. Hope this helps.
hello woundedmoney,
I was wondering if my wilsone poker software would work on a 32 bit os with windows 7 pro installed on it. I have a friend that wants 50 buck for it and my new laptop wont play the software due to it being a 64 bit. And I just did not want to down load a bunch of stuff to see if it would. My
