Does that mean your app no longer opens? Unfortunately, for this method to work, you need to have an HTML backup of your data to restore the database. Not having the HTML backup makes the whole process a lot more difficult.

I think there is a way to extract the data from your phone by copying the actual database file. Or if you have a CSV export file then email it to Michael Golden and have him convert it to an HTML file for you.

I switched to Run Good. I like it a lot!

The most difficult thing is to extract data from the database, mostly it's sqlite. There were less tools for it so you have to be very careful about it.

I haven't been able to open poker journal in a few days now, I'm on 9.3.1.
It takes about 5-6 seconds to load up and then it just crashes. Is there any way to get this fixed? Tried resetting the phone multiple times but still nothing. I want to at least be able to get in there so I can export all my data, would suck to lose everything.

Damnit I should of never installed the new software, at least you know now not to. I hope I can come to a fix for this, I just need to be open the damn app so I can export. I'll just get a different kind of tracker.

i have 5 years worth of data on my poker journal. I always have run backups, but i just realized that the app is not emailing my backup files to me! The last one that was successfully emailed to me was on 12/19/2015. I have dozens of backups since then logged on the app but they never sent out!

I am screwed if my app crashes and I have no way to get the backup files if it does!!!

Anyone have this problem?

That sounds like a problem with email on your phone.

Always brings me to my email client on my phone and then I send it to email addy on my computer.

If the app crashes, then any unsent emails will be in your outbox and you can access the contents and perhaps do something with it from there.

2 or so weeks ago this app just started constantly hanging up when i opened it and closing and going back to the home screen. Through a series of reopening it and turning phone on/off and doing resets, eventually it will work. No clue what makes it eventually work. I tried for an hour to get it going last night and couldn't get it open so I went ahead and installed 9.3 and so far its working fine. I was able to backup the data and email me so thats a win I guess.

If you guys are using the new iphones (6s) and your poker journal is taking forever to load/crashes while trying to load, or doesn't load at all anymore, I think I have found a solution.

1) plug iphone into computer with itunes and backup your phone through itunes.
2) restore iphone to factory default using itunes
3) restore iphone using backup

Once that is done your poker journal should load up instantly again, allowing you to access your coveted data and you can export the data offthe phone or to another app for safekeeping, or you can continue using PJ again.

However, after about 6 months of daily poker journal usage, the app will begin to slow down again, and eventually be unable to load. Just repeat the above steps anytime you need to "refresh" PJ.

We'll find out when iOS10 completely renders the app useless and see if he supports it. Backup your data just in case.

iOS 10 has been released. Can anyone confirm that iOS 10 and poker journal are compatible? I had a very bad experience when iOS 8 came out and I was in PJ data limbo for 2 months.

Im having an insane issue.
App started crashing when re-opening ( after it had been open already with a game running ), this was intermittent at first . I figured out that if I double clicked my "home" button on my iPad, then selected the app there, it opened. After a while, that didnt even work.
I make back ups all the time , so I deleted the app and re downloaded it from the app store, then installed the latest back up I had ( just a few weeks / 7 sessions or so back ) . When I went to look at it, there was a game from 4 weeks previous still running with like 400 hours and still ticking??? So I just deleted that game, and have been able to use Poker Journal with no issues since, ( about three months now).
So now I just got a new iphone, downloaded Poker Journal, and installed the latest back up ( created from my ipad which is what ive been using the whole time. When I go to the Overview, there is that same game, still running??? And none of my games Ive logged are there after that date???
So Ive just exported a .cvs so I have something at least.... and the poker journal app on my ipad is still working fine( that mystery game is not there either...it only shows up on the backups I create)???? It just wont export what is actually on the app.....just that freaky back up that ends on that game that is still running??
Of course the author is no where to be found......too bad , I loved this app.
Any suggestions ? lol......Or , what else are you'all using?
