Does anyone know where I can find a definition/description for and explanation of the PHH and DHH file formats (for poker hand histories?)

I'm trying to write my own poker database/analysis tool (I know there is already software out there that can parse PHH and DHH files for me, but this is more of an educational project for me, so I'm trying to do it myself).

you should use a more readable hh Format than..... why would anyone share the work he invested on reserching the format?

A) First, I'm trying to import the data from my games. The poker site gives me PHH and DHH files, so I don't have much choice about the format I'm importing from.

B) Given that the files are given to me in PHH and DHH format, and other sites and software use it, I assume that the PHH and DHH format standards are public knowledge - and therefore the definition/description must exist somewhere. Am I wrong in this?

It's clearly not proprietary to either the poker site or to any hand database software, as multiple sites and softwares are using it - and not all sites and softwares are owned by the same company! Why would a poker site give me data in a format that requires any personal "research" other than looking up the already-existing definition/description?

.... i think i recall that there are more readable .txt hh beside the phh/dhh.... but i might be wrong.

... there are other networks which also save local hh, but unreadable for the normal user..... likely to be used in the internal replayer

Ever figure out why your getting your HH in PHH and DHH haytil?

I noticed my ACR/Winning Hand Histories used to be in a TXT format, but now I get PHH/DHH files...

Had just ran deep in the MDS tourney and wanted to analyze some hands but can't pull them up in other tools because of the format...
