Hi All,

I have searched this forum as well as others and I haven't found any modifications for Bovada Tables, chips, or cards. They are .png files inside of the package contents on my mac so they should be really customizable. Has anyone done customized cards or chips? I have a bunch of modded chips from pstars and tilt I'd love to get on Bovada and I will try my best, but before I do, I am curious if anyone else has tried.

Thanks guys!

I have modded mine and a few others in the Bovada thread in Internet Poker thread have said they did too. I'll jump on a micro table and grab a shot.....

I set it up like my latest Merge tables were. Stars Chips, Merge Card Backs that I liked, Leather table that tedd_e_KGB posted at some point, blue buttons that give more contrast to catch my attention, Yellow spot light for contrast, dealer button from Merge Mods. The card faces are customizable, but I didn't care about changing that. As are the player boxes and pretty much anything else.

Very simple to do, no scripts or anything like MergeMods needed. Mark your files read-only and you're set. I hope the Bovada reps don't get sideways with these mods. I just couldn't focus on the tables the way they were and played very little. With these changes, I have pretty much moved all my play here.

Which Bovada thread were people posting in? The Unofficial or the Official support thread? I can't really find any modding in either of them. My hope is that I can somehow put some chips I have from p-stars and make them fit right in with the bovada ones.. Maybe wishful thinking, but we'll see.. *Fingers Crossed!*

Please post a tutorial and/or files on how to do this.

Quick and dirty tutorial....

To change card backs:
1. Find Bovada\resources\images\gc\card\card_back.png
2. Replace it with whatever card back image you want. It does not have to be the same size as the original
3. Mark file read only
4. Restart Bovada, it will try to download new files, but the read only will stop that.

Same process for the other mods, just replace #2 with whatever target you are changing...

Table image: Bovada\resources\images\gc\bg\table_Foreground_rt. png
-I choose the race track to mod here

Buttons: Bovada\resources\images\gc\button\gamebtn.png
-This one needs to be sized correctly as the top, middle, and bottom is used for the different button states.

Chips: Bovada\resources\images\gc\chip\chip.png
-cash games there is another called tourney chip or something.

Dealer button: Bovada\resources\images\gc\table\dealer_mark.png

Spotlight: Bovada\resources\images\gc\table\spotlight.png
-that is the red spotlight used on the racetrack and red table.
-You are going to have to use something like a sunburst gradient to get that faded effect

I think that is all I got right now. You can mod most anything here.

Thanks COKE_MAN! Do you have any files of chips or card backs ready made? I see you have the Pokerstars chips yourself, do you have any others?

Thanks,

Haven't made any other chipsets. I may make some later, but I am happy with the Stars chips for now. The card backs can be anything you want. Size doesn't seem to matter. Just grab one from the FT files if you have them or go to the Merge Modding thread and you can grab my tables.zip file and pull some out of there.

After typing the above, I decided to just put this out on my site. You can get the files there if you want and I copied the quick and dirty tutorial over there too. My merge stuff is there as well if you are interested.

Thanks COKE_MAN! You rock! If I get any other chips/elements made I'll shoot them to everyone.

Thanks,

I tried changing the button file (just added some quick Photoshop filters), making the new file read only for everyone (even myself) in the Get Info window, copying it to the correct place, but the live update still replaces it. I'm on Mac.

Hmm.. Oh crap.. I'm on a mac too... I haven't tried this yet. Is there a way to make it work COKE_MAN?

Hey dark_horse. I figured it out. You have to make it READ ONLY and then you have to LOCK the file. It's a check box when you go to "Get Info"

Thanks for the info. Want to give this a try. Your example kinda looks like the old Tiltbuster mods i used to use on PS.

I thought it did. Hmmm maybe the new update has stopped that.

I was able to get the table background changed using the read-only method but, anything else just gets replaced by the auto update upon start of the client on acr (cards, sounds, etc). Was finally gonna make green clubs!!!

Thanks again though for the info, was way too excited to learn that this could be done

If you use Table Tamer, an option exists to not let ACR update on startup.

For anyone interested, I found a workaround for modding ACR. Table Tamer stops ACR from auto updating so, I figure, hell, so can I right?

There is a file in the main ACR directory (wherever that is located for you for me it's C:\AmericasCardroom) called "pokerclient.ini".

Make a backup of this file when u locate it. After making a backup to another location, open the original file in notepad and you will see 3 entries. Delete the 2 entries that are labeled "[updater1]" and "[Updater2]" and save the file. Now auto update will not run when starting the client.

Of course, do this at your own risk.

You should probably start a new thread about the WPN mods. This is supposed to be for Bovada. Good work, though. Post some mod examples if you can.

I made some custom Bovada cards (front only) and a custom table. I posted links to pictures of them in my challenge thread here: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/17.../#post39563046

Let me know what you guys think and shoot a PM if anyone wants these!

Been working on modding my bovada tables since I've made it my home. Lifted the deck work from an FTP thread circa 2009 i think. The backgrounds are mine. The card backs are from tiltbuster, i had to ghetto rig them to work in this client.

Thanks. I'll post some files soon. Very hard to get cards clean looking because so many decks have rounded edges vs bovada's straight edges. Working on an FTP plugin but the deck looks kinda sloppy around the edges.

I will admit, I'm doing all this in MS paint lol.

I think these card backs looks sick fwiw.
