XP or Vista for poker software XP or Vista for poker software

Ok so whats the skinny on Vista. Will I have a lot of trouble running my current poker software on it? I primarily run software related to STTs, so Sit and Go Wizard, Poker tracker, PAHUD, Poker Stove, tourney manager.

I would actually like to buy Vista because the options seem to be greater in computers. Dell really only has two laptops that you can still buy with XP. However, the primary use for the computer will be poker so having my software is quite important.

Thanks,
+EV

XP is the better choice IMO. Many business are opting out of Vista completely and waiting for the next rev.

That said, I have vista on my laptop, and thats where I run all my poker software, and it works fine. A little slower. More bells and whistles. Just read up on "run as admin" and "user account control"

good luck

I have no problems with anything poker related on Vista as long as it 'runs as admin' and without aero turned on. I have switched off the uac-stuff completly though, so there may be issues for those who want to keep this.

SP 1 for vista is just around the corner though and I've heard this will make uac a bit more bearable in addition to fixing other issues.
