I am having a tough time setting up my database for HEM.

I recently got a new computer, less than 2 weeks ago.

I set PokerStars to save my Hand Histories and used the default file, which I thought would be similar to the default file when I had XP.

It was very easy then to find the Hand Histories by going to Program Files, PokerStars, Hand History, and then my name. Also easy to set up PokerTracker to find and import the files.

I absolutely cannot find my hand histories on my computer through the path that shows on the default PS file.

I can open them from the PS window that pops up when I choose Options from the Lobby.

I am a software ditz and would normally have no problem creating a new file but it doesn't seem so intuitive with Vista.

Thanks for your response.

While I was able to find it the way you told me to, I had also been able to find it through the Options/Save Hand History choices.

But, if I don't go through the PokerStars lobby, and just try to find them on my computer, I cannot find them.

Also, when I try to configure AutoImport for HEM, I cannot find the folder.

Do you have UAC turned off? If not, have you set pokerstars and HM to 'always run as admin'. Have you actually played any real money hands yet? It can't create the HH folder until it writes the first HH.

Regarding not finding the files when searching your PC, you might need to enable 'view hidden files' in vista.

Also, there is already a HUGE thread for HM, where this should have been posted, instead of making a new thread.

Thanks, I have UAC turned off. I have set HEM to always run as admin, but not PokerStars.

I have to turn on the UAC in order to set PS to run as admin.

I've been playing on my new computer for the last week and a half, have 377 files real money hands which I'm guessing amounts to thousands of hands.

Yes, I suppose I should have posted in the HEM thread, but goodness it's over 500 pages. I sure wasn't going to try and read through all that.

Perhaps a mod will merge this into that thread.

How do I enable view hidden files?

I don't have vista. Google it: 'view hidden files vista'. That's what I did when i helped someone via remote desktop.

If you have UAC turned off, you dont need to (can't) run as admin.

If you go to Help > My Settings Folder, you should see the HH folder. It sounds like you also manually changed it when you set the Options > Instant Hand History. You might have 2 different folders with HHs in them.

I enabled view hidden files. I will let you know if it helps.

I did find the HH folder when I went to Help> My Settings Folder. But I can't find it on my computer without going to the PS Lobby.

I didn't manually change the HH folder when I opted to save my HH, I allowed the default folder that PS sets.
