After searching on this forum, I am unable to determine how VPIP is calculated. Specifically, if you complete the SB, does this count? Also, if you call a raise in the BB, does this count?

VP$IP/ hands played+extra preflop action. small blind completion counts.
big blind checks do not.

the v is for voluntary.

Basically, the percentage of hands in which you voluntarily put money into the pot preflop.

So obviously, outside of the blinds, if you limp, raise, call, regardless of whether there is a flop (including hands where you put money in and fold to a raise), the hand counts.

Completing in the sb counts.

The only way you can see a flop and not have the hand count is if it is checked to you in the bb and you check to close the action.

VP$IP (Voluntarily Put Money in the Pot)
Description: The percentage of hands the player voluntarily put money into the pot preflop out of all hands.
This does not include posting any blind money.
Formula: ( Total Times Voluntarily Put Money in the Pot / Total Hands Played ) * 100

By that definition, if i check preflop but then put in money postflop, it's not counted, correct?
