I am a relatively recent convert to on-line poker and enjoy it enormously.

Before comitting to a particular hand tracker software I'd be interested to know if there's an acknowledged market leader...or whether the offerings are pretty close in pros/cans and what they offer.

From the bit of research that I've done the two products which stand out are Poker Tracker and PokerOffice. PokerOffice seems to be a more recent entrant and has an integrated HUD. Poker Tracker seems to be longer established and seems to have a larger user base / more active online community.

At the end of the day I do have a mind of my own and am happy to give both a go. I'm interested to see the views of the forum members before I pick.

Thanks

Pokeroffice has never been an alternative for Pokertracker. If you want something now you can buy Pokertracker 2 + PAhud and get a discount for Pokertracker 3 or you buy Holdemmanager.

If I were you I would just wait untill Pokertracker 3, Holdemmanager and PokerEV are all finished products and then just download a trial of all of them and figure out yourself which you like most. They will all be better than Pokertracker 2 or Pokeroffice.

Here are the contenders, in no particular order
PokerEV

Fozzy I see what you did there!...I'm going to take you up on your suggestion

Thanks for those suggestions Lateski...I've had a quick skim. Two out of three of those look a little immature.

Viertelkind (or anyone else feeling especially helpful) what fundamental thing(s) differentiate PO and PT? From your response I am assuming that there is something pretty major I've missed.

Won't go into the details why previously it was a bad decision to buy PokerOffice, but now it just does not make any sense. As I said before, with PokerTracker 2 you will get a discount for the new Pokertracker 3 once it is finished. With Holdemmanager you get one of the new next generation trackers. PokerOffice will just soon be outdated, old software. imo you shouldn't invest in something which has no future.

I suggest trying as many of thew new softwares in beta if possible, or at least the trial versions of each, before making a purchase decision - if you are only going to buy one. Me personally, I own Holdem Manager, I will definitely buy PokerEV, and more than likely buy PT3 as well. I will also have to buy a new 500GB - 1TB HD to use as a slave for all these DB's, but that's just icing on the imo.
