Hi guys.

PokerStars currently has a Prohibited Programs FAQ, here:

http://www.pokerstars.com/poker/room/prohibited

Those of you that have read it will know that it's a little out of date. Since it was last updated, lots of new programs have come on the market, some existing programs have been discontinued, and others have fundamentally changed in nature.

I've been asked to document and review all of the programs currently on the 'Allowed' part of the list, as well as any programs not currently listed. Eventually, my recommendations will be used to update the FAQ.

I'm asking for your help in the following areas:

1. If you know a program designed to work in conjunction with PokerStars that isn't listed and you'd like us to review it, please post the name of the program and a link to it's website.

2. If you've written a program yourself that isn't on the list and you'd like it to be included, please write to support@pokerstars.com, address your email to me or the Game Security department, and provide us with a download link and a licence for your software. I'll be happy to review it and let you know the outcome.

I'm already looking at the following programs, so you needn't mention these:

<ul type="square">[*]AutoHotKey and similar (will definitely be permitted, but scripts must follow the rules for all programs - ie. no autofolders) [*]Advanced Poker Calculator (from Prohibited Poker, will definitely be prohibited)[*]Calculatem Pro[*]Coach Rounder (doesn't work with PS yet, but will be permitted anyway)[*]Draw Poker Source[*]Holdem Genius[*]Magic Holdem[*]Mandraker (will definitely be prohibited)[*]Omaha Poker Coach[*]Poker Academy Prospector[*]PokerSoftwareTools[*]PokerVitals[*]Sit &amp; Go Shark[*]SpadeEye[*]SpadeICM[*]Tournament Indicator[/list]
I will also look at Holdem Manager / Poker Buddy once the final version is released, assuming it supports PokerStars of course.

Is there anything I'm missing? Any programs that particularly worry you as poker players? Now is the time to mention it!

Thanks alex, we are happy and proud to be reviewed by pokerstars,
and sure that our tools will be mentioned as NOT PROHIBITED on ps.
Omaha poker coach only passively
watches your game, calculating odds and advice.
It does not play Omaha for you, and therefore
does not violate the rules or
policies of any online Omaha poker room.

This tool will give you poker odds.
It does not use any information you don't already have.
It does not read anyone else's cards,
and does not share information with your opponents.
It only makes calculated guesses.

The link for you to download it and register a free period of full trial is HERE

Tx for your work

I just pinged Jeff via email about moving Sixth Sense to the allowed list, hopefully he'll get to it soon.

It's my understanding that the Sixth Sense guys have made some changes to bring it into line with our rules (I haven't got round to reviewing it myself yet but will do soon). Assuming that's the case then you can expect to see Sixth Sense moved to the allowed section in the near future.

Hi Alex.

Saw this thread today.

I am the author of the SitnGo tool "SpadeICM" and the tableselection tool named "SpadeEye".

Few hours ago i sent a PM to Sciolist about a review of my recently added PokerStars support for SpadeEye.

Basically SpadeICM is the same as the already permitted
"Sit and Go End Game Tools (sngegt.com)".
But SpadeICM has no "live" feature like sngegt.

SpadeEye is an alternative for the already permitted SixthSense tableselection tool.
I have added the PokerStars support in the last 1-2 days, so it may not work everywhere.
You can follow the discussion here:
http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/showth...=0#Post11283715

SpadeEye retrieves the player and tabledata from the players local PokerStars lobby.
It displays this data in a spreadsheet together with the playerstatistics from a players local database.
SpadeEye does not support datamining PokerStars and runs completely local.

You can contact me:
via ICQ ( 86080479 )
AIM ( MrSnoodSpadeEye )
or mail ( Sven@Spadeit.com )
If you need a license key or something.

Thanks
Sven

Thanks for the information Sven. You should get my standard email asking for information and a licence key for both programs shortly.

I believe 'Sciolist' is in marketing now so your message will probably just be passed on to one of us in Game Security. In any case, it's a much better idea to contact us at support@pokerstars.com than to send us PMs on here.

Thanks for the info and all the best.

Just so people know, we updated the FAQ this morning, adding a bunch of new programs to the list.

Other key changes:

1. We now have a clear policy for AutoHotKey and other macro programs.

2. Sixth Sense is now officially permitted.

3. Online Hold'em Inspector (OHI, OPI) is now officially prohibited.

4. Sharkscope and theCashDB are now officially prohibited.

If anyone has any questions, please feel free to write to support@pokerstars.com.

What did OHI do to get itself prohibited?

I think I found the answer to my own question. OHI is used as the "brains" of most known bots.
