Dave, I have an sql db restore basic question, before I search out the specific instructions, which I know you have posted.
I helped someone isntall HM and SQL months ago, and we installed it all to a separate D drive. He upgraded to XP pro, and couldnt connect. I was unable to find any trace of the installed SQL folders/files, except for this 'databases' folder, which had his 'data' folders, and a few of the other SQL folders. I am not sure, but it seems that SQL got removed/uninstalled. There were no traces on teh c drive, in the admin services, or even in the add/remove programs.
I installed a clean copy of sql to the D drive, and was able to connect to HM and get it importing to a new DB again. I then set up hm to import processed HH files from HM for now. I also created a 2nd empty DB in HM DB CP.
I know from your prev posts, that its technically possible to copy the data folders over, but how would I insure they go for the proper new, empty db, and not the new one he is using until I can restore the old one?? Is it even possible??
I was going to search the HM/pt3 threads, cuz I know you have posted sql db restore instructions previously, but I wan't to make sure it's even possible in theory, with my current configuration I set up.
