Hey bar nuthin is there anyway to make the vip stars in the nova theme run along the rim of the player like in the original theme/hyper simple instead of across the bottom?

How do you guys actually make mods like that where you move the location of elements? (referring to above examples)

you could make them either all on the left or all on the right side of the pod

making them appear around the player avatar would be a bit complex

I can't see any option for hotkeys within pokerstars where are the options for this?

yeah I noticed that I transferred the vip-status.bmp file from black to nova and saw how it worked and realized it would be kinda difficult.

There's this other thing I'm hating right now also, when I switch to the black theme the chips font size is freakin small as hell for some reason compared to nova. I searched earlier in this thread and found something about changing files here and there but it didn't help, I was wondering if you knew what file exactly it is that I need to look into to enlarge the fontsize for Black Theme?

Not the actual chips but the bet amount display under the chips is extra small

I cannot remember exactly where but if you search ITT there's some info on 'font size' which might give you a quick fix.

Currently testing a working draft, more of a cobble of Icarus with new seats and a different betting layout to reduce the auld mis-click.

I've been snooping through Local\Pokerstars and their program files directly and can't rly find anything except jumbled up files and some salted md5 hashes. Is this a trade secret?

You just need to edit gx.ini using the right decoder, you can find that somewhere in this thread.

How about making the card backs the backdrop to the hud panel, needs a neutral colour obv, but has the effect of highlighting the active villains. Personally I'd prefer all the stats in the one place rather than having them above and below the name/chips pod.

Whilst I concur, there is limited space on the table as it is at the moment; that's going to be limited further when on a 7,8 and 9-seat layout.

With the current layout there should be sufficient card showing under the bottom of the pod / hud to serve this function.

*edit* just re-read, this could def be a solution as long as sizing accommodates; I would be slightly concerned with the issue with HUDs that do not support transparencies.

Initial issue I have run into is that the hero seat frame is shifted below the bottom of the table to so as not to take up too much space, not look incongruous and to slot the actual pod element (name & stack) snug to the bottom of the table.

If the pod element was at the bottom of the frame then it would effectively not show on the table for the hero. Not a huge issue as a dummy pod could be built into the underlying table graphic; however, the empty-seat image will be centred on the centre of the current seat frame (uses the same gx.ini co-ordinates). If this centre is too low then obv it will look fubar for when the hero seat is empty (observing tables / table selection).

While there are work-arounds and it is something I will tinker with (have a few solutions in mind) I was a wittle bit impatient and went straight from rough hash idea to working alpha so I could get my fingers dirty.

tl;dr obv cheers for the comments and feedback so far.

I will be trying a few different variants and see what sticks...or perhaps roll out a customised installer.


Urrm, modders - I need the 414 on cardbacks and card layers..

Can we no longer display cardbacks over the seat pod? Had a quick test with cardlayer settings but no joy - obv we screamed for displaying hardbacks under the seat pod, now the default...did we lose the option of which it is?

Correct. We couldn't get the guys to code in an option to control the layer - we were only able to get them to hard code it to 0
