Can you even mod Pokerstars using a mac? Every time I change something it says to download a newer version of software. It must recognize a change in the software.

Why yes you can :] only snafu is either:

1) boot up the client, then copy your mods across; refresh with original images before rebooting the client / let PokerStars update and DL originals on reboot.

2) edit ~/library/preferences/com.pokerstars.user.ini and add the following as a new, first section:

[Debug]
RunUpdateCheck=0

this will stop the client from running updates, so ensure to remove this line and run the client normally, will a good frequency, to ensure you're up to date and secure.


now your modified files will remain in the client until you run the next update

for method 1) you can set up 2 simple Applescripts - one to copy the mod files over and one to restore the client before bootup (it's quicker to copy the original files back manually than to let the client update each time you start).

You could do that on your own, just save/export the .svg as .png and then batch-convert them using png2bmp, ez game.

Yo Bitee, what's with the weird rail at your table? Not gonna fix that? Would be cherry on top, and I just think it'd sell much better if you fixed that bit.

before making my post about help i've done it exactly as you write, but there's something wrong with my svg and png files or with converting to bmp.
as a result, i don't see cardranks in ready deck during game, only suits from cardbase.bmp are visible.

the dpi export levels are crucial for the correct sizes (the correct output file sizes are crucial for the ranks to appear) have another fiddle

you can batch export from inkscape from the command line in Mac, think you should be able to do so on PC also.

Put an export layer under your image to export, so say at 90dpi your largest rank file is 1092 x 118, create a rectangle of those dimensions and align it under your rank image for export. Hit Shift + Ctrl + O.

The first field in the properties - name it rank (think it's the ID field)

Now hide this export layer, keep the rank layer visible then save and exit Inkscape.

From the command line you can run a batch file with commands like:

[path_to_inkscape?\]inkscape svg_filename.svg -i rank -d 90 -e export_png_name.png

the dpi export levels that work fine for me are:

90
75
64.29
53.57
45
38.57
32.14

so export to rank_6.png ~ rank_0.png from dpi 90 down to 32.14 then run a batch PNG2MP on the resulting PNG files.

Is there a way to have the rank take up the entire area of the card when building a custom deck? I only want to see the rank on the card, without the suit and small rank on the left side. I was able to get rid of the suit and small rank (I think by copying the .a.bmp file for each into the corresponding .bmp file). I would like to use that room for the large rank. I made a new deck.bmp and deck.a.bmp, but it is positioning the large rank offset to the right and bottom. Is there a way to have the large rank positioned from the upper left of the card? TIA

for unknown reason, i have a cardrank.a.bmp file of low quality after converting via PNG2BMP (if compared with original cardrank.a.bmp for this deck).

I experimented with it but I didn't like the results. So just think of it like the rails have an angle and they're not horizontal



Dude the *.a.bmp are just mask files complimentary to the *.bmp so it's a way to have transparency on bmp files. PS client takes these 2 files and makes the final result which looks just like your original .png, so don't bother too much if they look "low quality" just test them on your client and see if everything looks as it's supposed to.

Just work with a full sized cardrank and use a blank deck.bmp

Is there a way to somehow include a chip mode (e.g. the Bellagio chip mod or the Paulson one) in a table theme? It is just very annoying when Pokerstars updates and I have to change the chips again.
I know that I can run Pokerstars.exe without the update and I will be okay, but I am just wondering if there is a way I can join my favourite chip mod with e.g. my current table theme (I have the new Nova Black theme)?
I was looking for the answer to this question but after browsing through 50 pages i just became tired so I am asking.

Hello 2 plus 2 forum members I am new to the forum. For 2 years already I consider myself a pro. But only when we speak about live games. I kinda ignored the online poker. But this is about to change. I really need your help. I have played just 20k online hands. I need your help to sort some things out. For the moment I play 6max cash games on 6 tables. So:

1. What is the best pokerstars theme for playing 6 max? I use HUD of course. ATM I use Pokerstars Black theme. I have the feeling that it is not really great for multitabling. I was thinking about Nova Green Theme or No Images Theme. So here is my 2nd problem:

2. Is it better to see other players images when multitabling? Do you think it is easier to memorise the players when you can see their images?

3. Where is the best place to put the HUD display? I play 6 max, as I said earlier. For the moment I put the HUD under the players names, but I have a problem with the seat next to the chat window. What do you think is the best way to arrange th HUDs?

4. I use 4 color deck. What do you think is the best color for the table and for the deck itself?

5. What font size do you use for your HUD? Now I play with vpip/pfr/steal/3bet and below is agf/cbt%/fcbet%/hands. So u can imagine how big my HUD is. Please advice how big should be the font size, I guess something between 8 and 12...

I know I asked a lot of questions that might appear stupid for you, but I'm making my first steps in online poker and I need to take care of all these small details. I think they will make my game easier and I will be able to have a better focus and concentration.
