Does anyone have a hard time seeing what is going on on the stars' client?

I have played on Bodog, Fulltilt, and Stars, and the only one I have a rather hard time using is Stars. Specifically, I can't see...

I can't tell at a glance whether a seat is full or emtpy. I can't see how much money I have because my cards cover them up. I can't see how much time I have to decide. Among other things, it's just hard to see what's going on.

Anyone out there share my sentiment, or have a suggestion to remedy the lack of visibility on the Stars client?

hmm... I actually find the pokerstars client quite good.
It's one of the few sites where I can multitabe comfortably.
Maybe it's just because I'm used to it.
BTW, I'm playing in cascade mode.

You mean you cascade the tables instead of tile them? Or is cascade mode some sort of theme? Not sure what you meant specifically.

Get a better theme.

You are using a No Images theme obviously. Some people find the Images Themes easier to follow.

post more pics of your themes imo

I posted one of Bar's themes pics too. If you ever made a No Images theme, I might have used one of your images as well.

Maybe I'm way picky. But...

If you were a multitabler playing full-ring trying to observe PT stats, all sorts of hands and decisions quickly, etc., you cannot quickly tell at a glance using your peripheral vision whether a seat is empty, whether a player is sitting out, or whether they are actively playing. At least on Full Tilt or on Bodog, if no one is sitting in the seat, there just isn't anything there at all. On Stars, you are provided a bubble or window of the exact same size and color that you would have to individually examine to see if it was empty, full, or a sit out. I feel picky just typing this, but it really is a distinction I've immediately noticed, and I don't care for the Stars setup.

If I had the choice, I'd make Pokerstars look exactly like Full Tilt, sounds, avatars, everything. It would fix the specific intricacy with which I quarrel. Maybe I do have this choice and I just don't know it.

Unfortunately it's currently impossible to make an empty seat disappear at stars. It uses the same image for empty seat, as it does for take seat. If you make the empty one disappear, you can never take a seat at a table. The best you can do is soften it, or make it 60% opaque or so.

I made a No Images version of Hyper-Simple, which does a pretty good job of making the empty seats hard to see. I used to this theme a lot, but eventually wanted to be able to see the empty seats better, so I would know if a table was breaking down.

slight hijack... I want to make the words EMPTY SEAT a green color. What's the file I modify (just the name would be fine) in order to do this? No images theme

Not possible. The font size, color, position is controlled by the (encrypted) GX.ini file.

_dave_, Bar Nuthin, and myself have been begging stars support to remove the encryption, to no avail.

guess we'll have to find a workaround

Fail.

I guess I'm not crazy then. Sounds like at least someone out there found having an empty seat be the exact same size, shape, and color of a player whose playing---annoying. Sitouts, players, and empty seats all look the same...(unless you do that 60% opaque trick, which I don't think I would like either).

Slight hijack, but fozzy, are there any issues with using one of the themes you posted and certain common ahk scripts?

Betpot would be the most prominent one. Most of the themes use custom bet/fold buttons and sliders. BetPot uses Image Recognition so you have to use the original buttons, for the stars bases that _dave_ captured images for. I make all of my original themes for the Stars, Simple, and Ordinary bases, so that my AHK scripts will work. Most of our new themes have BetPot options in the installer, to install custom buttons, or betpot compatible buttons. A few of the themes by Bar Nuthin are on different bases such as Azure and Blacker, and these wont work with betpot.

They've said that they don't plan on doing anything that appears to suggest how to play. I think that's about how they worded it. E-mail them if you want to see their exact response.
