FWIW, I experience this periodically on Tilt without running ANY supplemental software.

I 4-table FTP and sometimes POH eats up all the CPU, causing all the tables to freeze until I kill the process. I also experience the lag MoP_86 described after playing for a while

Well its obviously because you don't have a powerful enough computer.

Hey guys, I hear you all on the performance. Its come a long way since private testing, but its obvious I have more work to do in that area. There are a lot of things I know I can do to improve it but haven't had the time and I'm sure there are just as many areas I haven't figured out yet that can be improved. Once I get Stars support out (private testing is going pretty well on that), I'm going to turn my focus back to performance solutions because I don't want to hear anybody telling me POH caused their aces to get timed out.

By the way, for those of you having performance issues, what OS are you using?

XP +1

By the way, I'm not whinging about the performance, this is Beta 0.1.0 after all and POH has served me very well so far, just wanted to state that there are probably more than "very few people are having resource issues".

Are you using aero? This is exactly how FT with PAHUD works (or doesn't...) for me with aero switched on - turning it off should fix the problem.

Also, if I'm observing and then get taken off of the wait list, the HUD immediately stops working on that table. I thought that afer playing a few hands the stats migh reappear but this was not the case.

Because of both of the above problems, it is impossible to use the program while playing.

This is on Full tilt and I use PT3 with Vista running.
Sounds like a Vista Aero problem. You probably need to switch off Aero. Search for Aero in your Windows Help thingy and it will show you how to switch it off. Good chance that will be the issue as I used to have to do the same a while back with PAHUD due to the same issues that you have described before the PAHUD guys fixed it.

Thanks for the replies guys. I fixed the problem two days ago and it works great now. I'm not all that computer savvy so it took me a while to play with some of my Vista settings.

For anyone that experiences the same issue using the default vista settings, this is what I did:

Control Panel -> System and Maintenance -> System -> System Properties -> Advanced -> Performance Settings

I clicked on "Custom" and dechecked the box for "Enable desktop composition"

Most HUDs dont Datamine - it's the associated HH Tracker that does the mining, and the HUD displays the stats from the mined hands. The only hud that could datamine, afaik, was RTHUD because it had it's own DB.

No POH will not help you datamine, but you can datamine FT with PT2, PT3, HM and a lot of other trackers. You just have to open up the tables and set your tracker to grab observed hand histories.

For me $ won only works if they are winners, losers are shown as zero.

Well it would be useful to know if they are break even or down 25 buy-ins.

I will be fixing this and adding a BB/100 stat very soon. These are critical stats that I've overlooked/screwed up. I've also fixed some other stats that were problematic. Let me know if there are other stats you'd like to see too.

Update regarding Stars support: its coming very soon. I'm trying to work out one issue and then I'll get the update posted that will include Stars support as well as some other fixes. I will do my best to get it released tonight.

Combo stats won't show up a 2nd time, even if i save the theme. As soon as I close the table it saved everything but the combo stats simply won't ever come up again. Not unless i make a new one or edit it, then it will show up again.

The background for my combo stat turns pink when I hover over the numbers.

Don't think I set the background color to that.

Well, when I was using Realtime I really enjoyed the fact that I could use any deck by copying it into the appropriate place. I ended up being most comfortable with using the same deck that I use in play, the normal 4-colour built into FTP (as opposed to hyper/simple 4-colour that many seem to favour.)
