Please, make constructive comments / ask for help politely - or at least describe what system +site you are running on / what you have tried so far so YoureToast may have some idea how to fix the performance problems you are having.

It is of no help to anyone making comments like these.

Remember, this is a *beta* product, and is for now available to people *for testing* at no cost. It is not supposed to be a finished program, bugs are to be expected - and if you are beta testing it for free it is more expected to help the developer solve problems rather than make disparaging comments.

Just a little joke, that's all pal.

Also I was a bit annoyed because when I ran this program for the first time it froze, causing me fold a set in a ~$500 pot.

I have a little problem with POH and PT3.

When i launch more than 8 tables, i havec suddenly no more stats on all my tables.

I'm playing on Stars 6 handed.
I don't think it's because of the hardware of my laptop. On 8 table i have no problem showing 9 stats for each players.

EDIT: OK after wating a certain time, all the stats appears on all the tables.

Update 0.4.0 Posted

This is a fairly significant update. A few key additions, many under the hood improvements, and resolution to many of the issues people were having.

Significant Additions
- Added Tournament support (for PT3 -- Stars/FTP) (note this seems to be working for every type of tourney, but please let me know if any tourneys aren't detected.
- Improved data retrieval process -- initial retrievals on a table should be about the same, but once loaded, future loads will be significantly faster

Other improvements
- Added "Minimize on Startup" option
- Table List is expanded to include:
--- Abililty to disable a table
--- Table VPIP and PFR are shown
- Added "Toggle All Stats (Session)" button in stat context menu to allow you to switch all of a player's stats to session stats at once
- Added the ability to default hero stats to session stats (this is buggy at the moment but works in most circumstances)
- The "Show Hero Stat" property for each stat now works so that you can elect to show only specified hero stats

Key bug fix
- Problem users with countries that use a comma instead of a period to reflect a decimal place should be fixed (please report to me if not)

-Performance Issues-
For those of you having performance, particularly if you are playing a lot of tables with a big database, the most important thing that you do to improve performance is to disable all hero stats. Note that although this will drastically improve the initial data retrieval process, it won't have any effect after such initial retrieval because of the improvements described above.

(Technical note: Until I create a caching mechanism, the initial data retrieval process will be slow for users with big databases and hero stats enabled; cacheing for PT3 will help a lot but I hesitate to add that until I know where Josh is going with his database structure.)

Thanks.

Toast

The Hands numbering are running wild in the last update. If i have 100 hands on a player it will add another 100 every few second in an endless loop.
Edit: HM database

Thanks. I had to rush out the release to prevent expiration problems and forget to test the next database retrieval methods on HM.

I can probably do it tonight. Sit tight.

Canta,

Just posted 0.4.1 to address this. Go get it and let me know if it works. Note that the database retrieval efficiencies created in this build for PT3 don't apply in this round of updates for HEM and aren't as necessary due to HEM's db structure. Nevertheless, I will add the same routines for HEM soon to optimize DB data retrieval there too.

Just downloaded. It's recognizing my tables and the players, but it's not recognizing my preferred seat. This is on stars.

Is this a new problem? Or is this the first time you tried it?

Go to Preferences, PokerStars tab and make sure the HH directory and the Main PokerStars directories are accurate. If you change them, you should probably restart. If you're still having problems, send me a PM and I'll work it through with you.

Love the latest version. The toggle session stats option is awesome! Hero stats are showing up like they should. It also seems to be using less resources. Anyways, keep up the good work.

I'm using PT3 and it's saying I have like 200k hands on some players that I only have about 2k hands in my db on. And it's increasing like 4k every few seconds.

Still having some problems with the program actually making the stats I select to be transparent..well transparent. They just usually aren't transparent regardless of what I do.

Unfortunately, it's not fixed.
When I go back to my "comma setting", POH doesn't detect the table but I have no more error message.

But it's working with the advice of the stoxpoker member.

PT3 btw
Its one of 3 things:

1. Your showing that player's session stats (is the stat underlined dotted red)? If so, toggle it to normal.

2. Your filters pick up only more recently played hands. Such as you have it to retrieve data from only the past day or so, or you have a player seat range filter set in a manner that you don't have much hands on the player.

3. There is a bug.

1 and 3 are most like. Check 1 and 2 and get back to me if the problem isn't resolved. And also make sure you're using the latest version (I've posted 0.4.2 actually without annoucement to fix a few things)

PostgreSQL is required for the HM/PT3/PEV databases, that POH reads the info from. DO you have PT3/HM installed?

That link is for a (very) old version of postgres installing on Linux... I actually bought that book many years ago

Let us know your setup and we'll point you in the direction of an easier guide.
